I've never seen the UK version (if it exists). Maybe nobody talks about the region B because its not that good. Thats all I can say.

I'm behind the curve when it comes to this film. To be clear...

The theatrical version of this movie is not available at all? Only the "unrated" and "director's" version on this current BD? Wonder why no theatrical.

Can't find any screencaps from this disc, and am reading wildly different reactions to the PQ. It's a Disney produced disc, which usually means PQ is excellent.

If I had to guess it's because the unrated cut is essentially the theatrical cut with extra footage whereas the director's cut has actual differences re: voiceover, the ending etc.

I'm a big fan of presenting alternate cuts of movies on DVD and Blu-ray and I'm all for completeness (I actually have all 3 "Bad Santa" cuts on DVD) so I'd definitely prefer if they'd gone the "Blade Runner"/"Close Encounters" route but at the same time when it comes to actual footage you're not really missing anything by missing the theatrical cut.

Why Region B release are often worse than A release.

Wow I just saw this movie for the first time ever tonight on Blu-ray. I have to say it is one of the very worst movies I have ever seen. I want that 90 minutes back

I only have the standard dvd of Badder and I think it's hilarious. It's a very dark comedy and as you just pointed out , by your distaste for the film, not for everyone's taste.

I agree it's a very funny film and unfortunately the last movie John Ritter was in.

I never cared for it much myself, but it is pretty funny.

Yes pity they didn't include the theatrical cut as that would have made it quite the definitive release

Meh the director's cut and unrated cut are enough for me, doubt I'd ever watch the shortest cut.

So I popped the Bad Santa Blu-Ray into my PS3 last night and pushed play. The following happened:

1.) The previews played normally.
2.) I got to the main menu of the UNRATED VERSION and selected SETTINGS, changed the audio to uncompressed and exited the SETTINGS MENU.
3.) Clicked on PLAY in the main menu.
4.) The FBI Warning appeared on screen and stayed there... frozen.

5.) I ejected the disc, cleaned it, turned off the PS3, turned it back on and inserted the disc.
6.) The PS3 did not recognize the movie for a couple of minutes, then I got a message saying. "PS3 Cannot Play This Disc."
7.) Ejected the disc, checked the PS3 for a firmware update. It was already up to date with the latest firmware.
8.) Tried the disc again, this time choosing DIRECTORS CUT menu, clicked PLAY.
9.) It started playing just fine.

10.) Ejected the disc, cleaned it with tap water and a cloth really really good and popped it back into the PS3.
11.) Warnings, previews played, etc.
12.) From main menu, selected UNRATED VERSION, clicked PLAY.
13.) The menu froze.
14.) I hit the SELECT button on my PS3 and saw that the title was on 1, chapter 1, at 00:00:00 - FROZEN.

15.) Repeated everything a few more times.
16.) The FBI warning never showed up again, however from the menu I can see that when I click PLAY, the TITLE goes through different numbers like 5, 10, 4, and then back to 1, but still freezes.

17.) I spent 30 minutes on this with no success.

18.) Checked the internet for similar issues and found none. I played the UNRATED VERSION last year around this time with no problem. The disc has been sitting in its case all year and does not have any apparent scratches, chips, or smudges that I can see.

19.) QUESTIONS- Did my disc just go bad? Is this a PS3 error similar to the HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER Blu-Ray?

20.) I tried watching some of the features from the UNRATED VERSION Menu, and they also froze. ?!

Aside from watching the DIRECTOR'S CUT, does anyone have any suggestions for watching the UNRATED VERSION?

Help!!

Just wanted to point out that the director's cut is actually the shortest(Theatrical:91 mins,Unrated:98 mins,Director's:88 mins)

I was checking to see how much Billy Bob's Bad News Bears on Blu cost...

And OMG! I didn’t realize that the remake isn’t on Blu-ray! How embarrassing for Paramount!!

I thought maybe it was 2007 and Blu-ray was a new format? That should explain why it's not out.

So I looked at my calendar to see what year we are in!

I couldnt believe it; it’s 2011!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Bad Santa is on blu and sold well, but Bad News Bears is not?
