The way some people are going on you would think the US release is going to feature a completely different transfer done especially for them which will be far superior to ours but chances are it will be exactly the same.
The only extras on the 2nd disc is the Warner at War documentary that has nothing to do with the movie. If the movie (and its extras) are what you care about, the 1 disc is fine.

The documentary, "The China Odyssey", was made in 1987 and aired on TV when the film came out. I'm sure it only exists in SD.

Hi James, thank you for your feedback for the extras. Any feedback regarding the main film picture quality ? The strange thing Warner must be out of stock, no shop has the movie here in Ireland, even one week after the official launch date. Strange no ?

I am getting a little annoyed at HMV, don't let me order the bloody thing if you don't have enough! 'On special order with our supplier'

Hi Villiam, HMV shops will not let you order a product if the product is on SPECIAL OFFER. You can order only full price items. It happened with me before.

This seems to be happening more and more with "limited appeal" titles (or those presumably judged to have limited appeal). The 3D version of "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" has been almost impossible to find and Amazon haven't even listed it. Luckily I pre-ordered it and got a copy but I know that just 2 days after it came out it was suddenly on "special order" at HMV.

I tried to get "Hall Pass" a week after it came out. It sat on "special order" with HMV for nearly 6 months before they cancelled it saying it was no longer available. Funny thing is last week I walked into HMV store in Southampton and there was a copy of the title in their "3 for £20" sale.

Had to wait several months to get "Water for Elephants". Zavvi claimed to have it in stock but after 3 months still hadn't supplied it so I went to HMV who then took another 3 months to get a copy.

It seems to me it's becoming more and more important to pre-order titles that aren't mainstream because they just seem to vanish the day of release if you haven't pre-ordered, presumably because they produce a very low number of copies.

My biggest frustration with titles on Blu-ray is the BBC. It's crazy to have to order a title from the States when it's a BBC title - just because they've decided to only issue the title on DVD in the UK, but Blu-ray abroad.

I suspect they don't want to honour the £6 price (or £5.40 in my case) they dropped it to before release. I've sent them a disgruntled e-mail basically accusing them of so - referring to the site advertising shipment in 1-3 days not as 'out of stock'.

Will see what they say.

I had the same problem with HMV, they had Halloween on order with the supplier. And the stock never arrived. I suspect they don't want to honour the orders, as the purchase price was higher than the price the shop was selling the discs.

I ordered the blu-ray of Halloween when it was on 21 - 24 days delivery and it came through the following week, Im holding onto my £6 pre-order, it's only £8 now so I doubt they would dupe someone over £2.

Hi mijacmad, I was referring to HMV shops, not HMV online. Only to clarify.

I would describe the PQ as "excellent". No sign of any print damage, dust or dirt and a crystal clear picture for the most part. One or two scenes are a bit soft, but that seems to be the fault of the source material not the transfer. The PQ is significantly better than I was expecting.

Unfortunately the only extras are the 50 minute documentary that was on the DVD and which is in 4:3 SD, and the trailer which is in 16:9 SD
