DS9 for me. TNG had some very good episodes, but a lot of very bad ones too. Never got into Voyager or Enterprise. I like the original cast, but I prefer them in the movies and I do find TOS very hard to get into. It's not just the age (I love 60s Doctor Who and The Avengers) but it doesn't quite gel for me.

I originally stopped watching TOS after 6 episodes but gave it another shot after I finished ENT. ENT is a bit too hated if you ask me, wish it could've gotten the full 7 episode treatment. TNG is too beloved, not sure why so many people hold it up as a shining beacon of a perfect show.

TNG was a lot of people's first foray into Star Trek, and probably their first taste of sci-fi on TV. It came at a time when there wasn't much about. Despite the initial couple of shaky years by season 3 it had slipped into the quality that most now remember it for.

Personally, I prefer DS9, but tbh, when TOS, TNG and Ds9 are all at their best there's not much between them. City on the Edge of Forever, The Inner Light, In the Pale Moonlight, all absolute dynamite.

Enjoyed watching most of these series. Voyager is the only one I haven't seen. My order would be.
1.TOS
2.Enterprise
3.TNG
4.Ani
5.DS9

The original by far. IMO, the others blew.

Just finished watching all of TNG. A very good series, despite the shaky start in S1-2. I would rank the series:

TNG
TOS
DS9 (I really want to rewatch this now!)
ENT
VOY

I liked all of them except for Voyager. It just didn't click with me, and I stopped watching shortly after 7 of 9 joined the crew.

I've only seen some Episodes of the Original Series and the Next Generation. The Original Series was OK in a "cheesy" way, the Next Generation was pretty bad.

The Original Series was my favorite. Really couldn't get into the other series as much.

TNG. I'm of the opinion that Jean-Luc Picard is one of the greatest television characters ever. He's right up there with Walter White and the Doctor.

I was excited when they announced the TNG, but that first year was rather disappointing. The stories and characters were in a way goofy, but the series did get better with some interesting stories.

Hard to pick a favorite TNG, but some interesting ones were Parallels, Genesis and from the original series, I always liked the City on the Edge of Forever.

My vote easily goes to "The Next Generation". I was 7 years old when it premiered, and to this day I still enjoy the bulk of it. The characters and stories remain (mostly) relevant, and Data's probably my favorite android ever created for TV or film. Brent Spiner did an excellent job with that role, from the pilot to "Nemesis"; I was blessed with the opportunity to meet him several years ago. If that ever happens again, I am bringing my camera.

Most of the other characters were very good, too; I actually liked Wesley in the early years, and never understood why so many hated him. Even now, people say he "always saved the ship"...but that's not true if you pay attention. He had some very heroic moments at times, but so did everyone else; there wasn't much of a shift in the overall balance. Every main character was given multiple chances to shine; I loved seeing Natasha Yar again in "Yesterday's Enterprise" and the series finale.

I love TOS and TNG but they're just not as satisfying in terms of ongoing story arcs as DS9. Voyager I could quite happily go without ever seeing again, but I like Enterprise. It takes a while to rise above the Voyager-lite show that it started off as, but when they cast off the shackles there's some of the most fun Trek I've ever seen in that show.

I'm not a Trekkie, but I do enjoy the original and TNG. It's tough to choose because I found TNG to be more compelling and it was what I grew up with, but the original is the show I find myself going back and watching from time to time when it's on TV.

Couldn't agree more, even what you say about Enterprise, really like it, think it's my 2nd favorite Trek.

Enterprise was crippled by chronic casting and a reluctance to embrace the narrative landscape that their setting afforded them.

Having a series based when they did yet having the Romulans and the founding of the Federation as an afterthought/sideshow was a massive miss-step IMO. Especially when it was in lieu of a ridiculous temporal Cold War arc that they literally made up as they went along.

I liked some of the characters, and while the first couple of years only had a few standout episodes, the latter seasons stepped things up considerably. Shame it was far too late.

Voyager, in hindsight, I'd probably rank just above Enterprise, largely on the strength of some of that show's characters and standalone episodes, of which there were some that were just brilliant. Unfortunately, the backbone of the series, the journey home, turned into a farce, and they get a massive reprimand, from me, for taking the Borg and reducing them to little more than pantomime villains.

I have an enormous amount of time for the other three shows though. If we could just get DS9 on blu I'd die happy.
