Amazon Problem with 2DBlu

Greetings,

I bought the 2DBlu+DVD of Mars Needs Moms on Amazon.com and received it this morning. The package from Amazon looked in great shape (as always) and you could clearly see that it had not been opened, the contents of the Amazon box looked identicaly pristine (9 BDs in total). However after taking out the cardboard cover from the Mars Needs Moms BD, I noticed that the celophane that covers the BD case had a little hole (1 inch aprox) and it had torn the celophane open a little bit, also the little flap that closes the case was bent to the inside of the case; the opening left by the bent flap plus celophane hole was small enough to make it impossible for anyone to take a DVD or BD out of the case, so I didn't think it was something done by any Amazon.com employee and more likely a case of bad packing at the Disney BD production facility. Anyways I was worried about the state of the disks themeselves, but to my surprise when I opened the case, there were no disks in it. It was empty but for the Disney ads and paperflyers. And let me tell you, I've been buying from Amazon.com for the last 13 years (I live in Spain and the first books I ordered in 1998 didn't get here for 6 months!... Now it takes 10-15 days with the cheapest shipping option) and never got any complain whatsoever.

I called Amazon.com customer service and let me tell you something, those guys are great! In 2 minutes the agent I talked to managed to solve the problem and a new Mars Needs Moms BD is on its way home, for no extra charge, and they didn't ask neither for any pictures nor to ship the empty case back (which saves me some moolah, albeit the international call surely has been costy).

I wrote this not to complain about Amazon or Disney (actually let me praise Amazon for their professional and ultrafast service), but because after more than ten years buying VHS, DVDs and BDs online, something like this had never happened to me and wondered if it ever happened to any of you guys!

Do any of you ever get an empty shell for a movie you bought? Is this stuff fairly normal? Or is it something super rare and should not worry for at least 13 years to come?

Yeah, one gets past the Mfgs. every now and then. As a retailer of movies and music, it happens at least 4 times per year. More often, a still-sealed disc will be the wrong one.

Any places having this on sale during Black Friday week? Would love to get this for $20 or less. 3D version that is.
