You are correct!

However, I still expect most of the sales for this title to be made AFTER Christmas.

With the exception of last minute gifts, I doubt many people will be rushing out to get this film before Christmas.

Some (23rd) will be included in the previous week, but most will be sold Christmas Eve, Boxing Day (26th) and the following week.

Even those ordered on Amazon will ship mostly on the 24th and 26th.

It is a public holiday in the UK, and other commonwealths, that is on December 26th. There are different theories on the origins.

Day after Xmas.

It's a holiday in Canada, but it's also the biggest shopping day of the year. It's the Canadian version of Black Friday.

For a while I wondered if Boxing Day was all the british guys slugging at each other and losing teeth.
More recently I've determined it's a matter of BOXING your Christmas Dinner leftovers and gifting them to those in need.

I like the change. I will buy it to watch on Christmas Day. It should generate a lot of last minute shopping sales, and most of the sales will count for the week of the 26th.

Default Rush Hour 3 predictions

We probably have all now heard that rush hour 3 will be released on sunday the 23rd. What are your guys' predictions? How do you think it will effect the next weeks sales with dud's kingdom, eastern promises, etc.

I think we'll still win and there will be a lot of day before and after christmas sales of rh3. hopefully the sunday before xmas sales of the movie don't ruin it for the week.

Rush Hour 3 is not a very good movie. I doubt it will sell very well on Blu-ray.

Agreed. I don't think '3' will have much impact at all. They should have released Rush Hour 1 and 2 at the same time in a trilogy pack. I would have bought that.

Either way we have some excellent residuals from Disney and others that will continue to sell very well.

My hope is that a good percentage of all those new 40Gb PS3's take some of their gift cards and buy a movie or two.
