I just got a notice from Deep Discount that my pre-order was cancelled due to it not being manufactured, so it's either been cancelled or indefinitely delayed.

So, reviewer copies are being sent out. Hopefully, we get a release date soon and also hoping that Blu-ray is up to standards.

Twitch Review

I will wait for screenshots, but sounds like another Fortune Star upscale to me. I have the remastered Joy Sales DVD, which looks quite nice. Not surprising that the Media Blasters blu-ray is an upgrade on the HKL DVD - that one wasn't very good to begin with.

This could very well be an upscale. There are only a few shots where it looks like the HD to which we've become accustomed. Hong Kong flicks are notoriously neglected and not well preserved, so I don't imagine we'll get better any time soon. Though if you have the Joy Sales disc, you night not be missing much.

It now says in stock, so other stores like Amazon should be getting it soon.

I received this the other day from Amazon.ca. It doesn't look great but does look miles better then their old non anamorphic DVD. There's also a new extra included, an interview with the Director from Hobo with a Shotgun as apparently he is a huge fan of this film.

Is Amazon US assuredly going to get this or should I order it from Allegro? 20$ is also worth it for this classic but I'd rather avoid making another registration at a site from which I'm unlikely to buy anything else.

Amazon should be getting it soon, but who knows when. They are often are among the last stores to receive MB titles.
