'How to Train Your Dragon' the 3D version had 7.1 whereas the mass commerical non-3D release was standard 5.1 Fox you have enough time to rectify this when and if you release 3D version here in the States. Last edited by Dubstar; 05-05-2011 at 02:35 AM. |

Not sure about that. The two glasses in that bundle without the movie cost $140. So essentially they want $50 for that movie. Fairly ridiculous compared to the Samsung/Panasonic bundles which usually are/were not more expensive than buying two glasses separately (at least, that was the case before Samsung dropped the price of their entry-level glasses).

A female co-worker said she picked up a 42 inch Sony 3D TV from Best Buy. She said they threw in three 3D Blu Ray movies, Beauty & The Beast, Cinderella & Shrek. I know B&TB is coming out this fall and Shrek 4 is an exculsive so how can this be true?

I may have to pick up this set, I really don't care for the Sony glasses I have now, they're heavy and uncomfortable. Hopefully Sony has improved the design. It's nice to see the glasses prices are coming down too (although they're still pricy).

The glasses are compatible with the 2010 models. All 3d exclusives so far have been region free as well.

She probably isn't telling the truth. Shrek can only be bought as a Samsung, Cinderella is not on Blu-ray or DVD in any stores at the moment, and Beauty doesn't come out until the fall. And to nitpick, Sony makes 40" and 46" not 42. Samsung makes a 43", Panasonic and LG make 42"s. As an employee at best buy we are not allowed to "throw in" Anything for free unless it is a package offered by the retailer.

I remember reading at AVS that this should be no more than a 2 month exclusive. What remains to be seen is if Fox will go ahead and go with a general release after the exclusivity ends. I know there are a few folks that are still waiting on Ice Age 3.

I paid the "eBay penalty" for that one, but it was money well spent! It's what I pop in as a 3D demo to guests. Bolt was a Sony exclusive, it's not anymore but like Ice Age 3 it has yet to see a retail release either.
