They did remake the first game. It was called Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. It released for PS2, PSP and Wii in 2010.

Since the first game isn't in the set, I bought the first game off the PSN since I don't have a working PS1 right now. I hope they do a Silent Hill HD Collection 2 that includes Silent Hill 4: The Room; Silent Hill: Origins; and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

That's not a remake, it's a TERRIBLE "re-imagination".

And to the guy complaining 1 isn't on here, seriously? 1 isn't on the MGS one either, and did you wonder why the RE HD collection consisted of CV/4? Because you can't remaster PS1 games into HD....

As for no 4, that's most likely because of all the crying they got about that one so they figured not to bother, and Origins tanked just like everything after it.

I can understand about PSone games, I'm with you.

What I refuse to accept is that two games make collection, especially when there are more in the series.

Yeah, do we all know for sure if Silent Hill 2 has both cuts of the game? I noticed little changes in the Greatest Hits version when I played it as James.

In preparation to actually playing the games, I just dug out this old dvd and re-watched it for the first time in at least 4-5 years!

Lost Memories "The Arts & Music of Silent Hill"

If I am not wrong, I believe you were talking about the original SH2 and the revised version called Silent Hill 2 "Restless Dreams"? The latter was originally released on the Xbox with an extra mini game you play as Maria. It was later ported to the GH version on the PS2.

I surely hope we are getting the "Restless Dreams" version in the HD Collection.

I am afraid it is now a collector's item and is quite hard to find. Even when it was first released, it was sold directly by Konami, so you pretty much had to order it at record stores in Japan to get it.

Finally got the game last night after work! Since I figured I only have time to play one game at a time, I actually picked THIS one up instead of SH: Downpour for now.

So far so good, but it took like 15 minutes to install the game, wth?!

One observation though. Once you pick SH2, you are sent directly to the opening scene of the game. I was kind of hoping to see the original opening theme with the song "Theme of Laura" in the background.

As for SH3, you get to see the opening theme like on the original PS2 version.

Having never played either of these I imagined going with New Voices would be better. Not sure the actors name but I instantly recognized him as Snow from Final Fantasy XIII and Vincent from Catherine. So, I'm thinking New is good. Pretty excited about playing these after playing Downpour. Fog is definitely more intense in SH2. I can't see anything.

I have a question though. Is Extra Riddle mode supposed to be unlocked somehow? I set my Riddles to Hard since I saw a trophy for that. Figured I'd knock it out.

I admit it, I am such an idiot!

I never really paid attention to what trophies are available, and was "guessing" finishing the game on Hard must have one of those trophies like most other games... and I must have finished like 20% of the game on Hard (both difficulty and riddle)... then I realized finishing the game on Hard gives you NOTHING!

Does doing the Riddles on Hard unlock Extra Riddle difficulty though?

Oh yeah, I was going to clarify it a bit too. If you want to unlock the Extra Riddle level, you must finish the game once on Hard Riddle level.

Playing this game on Hard difficulty isn't that "hard" per today's standard, but it is more like frustrating than difficult due to the old style camera angles at times. I am seriously thinking about restarting from the beginning on just Easy difficulty and Hard Riddle level.

Cool. I did set my riddle difficulty to Hard when I started luckily. I just set the regular difficulty to Normal.

Haven't really felt super creeped out like I did in Downpour yet though. Hoping I will eventually. I have to say I love the music and the story. Really great so far.

This is just epic!

Right on! I love the SH2 OST very much, and many of the songs there are simply GREAT! I highly recommend it if you can still find a copy of it, or PM me if you want more info.

It is an odd choice of games, to me it would have made more sense to be 2 and 4 (I mean 2-4 would be ideal, but if they only wanted two). I mean 3 is a direct sequel to 1 while 2 and 4 are essentially stand alone, but there are references to 4 in 2 (Walter Sullivan news clipping).

But can you imagine how long it would have taken to get the game with three titles in it? There was already like 30 delays as is . I'm still betting though if this sells good enough there will be an HD Collection 2 with 4 and Origins, although I only really want 4...
