No sale's fine but $42.99 is the opposite of being on sale. I'm hoping that price is wrong.

Walmart's advertising this with movie money for Journey 2.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/19394141

Can anybody verify whether Amazon one comes with the movie money as well? If not then I rather just buy from Walmart since I'll surely be watching Journey 2 just for 3D so if it has $10-$12 movie money then it'll be worth it to pay tax and buy it in store.

Despite the LAME review, I still consider Journey to be a fun experience. I enjoyed the film immensely and have seen the 2D and anaglyph 3D version numerous times. I adore the three main characters, the insane story and the abundance of wild "in-your-face" 3D pop-outs that frequently appear throughout the film. As a true fan of the movie, I expect Journey to be fantastic in 3D on my passive LG system.

It still burns my nipples that NONE OF THE RETAILERS has Journey 3D on sale at a decent price... Best Buy especially.

If I use Best Buy's $5 DVD upgrade coupon and a $5 Reward Zone Certificate, that'll make Best Buy's price the same as Amazon's ($32.99). I also have some BB gift cards from Christmas, so my net out-of-pocket expense will be free.

At least at Best Buy, I could still price adjust IF they offer it for lower later on. As a Silver Reward Zone member, I am not sure how long after purchase I can price adjust, but I think it's one month (might be two).

The only possible MYSTERY will be the actual in-store price at BB for Journey 3D. The ad states that there are OTHER TITLES IN STORE on sale for $29.99 ($24.99 with $5 DVD upgrade coupon). Has in-store prices ever been lower than the BestBuy.com advertised price? I guess I will find out tomorrow. I would also like it very much if it comes with movie cash for Journey 2.

If I attempt to get Journey 3D at Walmart ($31.96), chances are it won't even be in stock tomorrow. My local WM is absolutely horrid when it comes to Blu-ray 3D titles on the shelf -- especially on release day. But why should I bother with WM since I can use the coupons at Best Buy (along with the RZ Cert and BB Gift Cards).

So come on and fess up: who is buying this tomorrow (or this week)? I am!

I also really enjoyed this movie.

As for the price, I have a feeling it may be like The Final Destination 3D.

If I remember correctly, The Final Destination 3D was not in their ad. On their website it said 42.99, even on Monday(the day before it was released). But on tuesday, to find out the movie was on-sale($29.99).

Despite what everybody thinks retailers have nothing to do with the pricing of items. If theyre not offered a deal from the supplier, they can't pass a deal onto their customers. Do you really think they are going to LOSE money on title just for the joy of selling it?

If the supplier doesn't intend to push a title with advertising or some kind of promotion because they dont think theyll earn their outlay back they wont do it and it has nothing to do with the retailers. This is a back catalogue title that will probably be lucky to sell a few thousand copies considering the small amount of units 3D titles sell, so it isn't really surprising there are no offers available on it.

What you said is true. However, Journey To The Center of The Earth 3D is clearly being released as a cross-promotion for the upcoming theatrical release of Journey 2 The Mysterious Island 3D. Movie cash is reportedly included on the packaging of Journey 1 3D.

I'll report back on the situation when I return from Best Buy tomorrow. A major rain storm is gonna hit. That seems to happen a lot on the Tuesdays I go to Best Buy.

Price is too frigin high for me. Besides, it would be a double dip for me, since I have the suck version of the 3d. I'll do like most others and wait until the prices drop... a hella lot...

I'd pay 24.99 for it. 27.99 makes me think twice, and 34.99 and up is a wait till it's 24.99$...

I was ready to buy Smurfs 3D at 24.99 and then was in the store and it's said 27.99. It's only three bucks, but I have my limits... Unless it's a must own title that is, then 27.99 is acceptable.

You know, I have this suspicious feeling this is actually coming out on the 31st. Best Buy has another version on regular blu-ray coming out on 31st (allegedly). If that's true then I don't see why they would release them on two separate days. And Best Buy usually shows stores with stocks on their site but still not available. So maybe 17th was the wrong date...

Then again Walmart.com says it's in stock. Maybe it's Walmart exclusive...? Okay, probably not but I'm confused by it's availabilities throughout usual vendors.

I got a shipping notice from Amazon that my backorder shipped, so the 17th does appear to be a good date (at least for Amazon, not sure about BB).

I should have it tomorrow or Thursday.

Amazon now says it will be in stock on Friday, January 20th.

I have to go out in the rain anyway. Off to Walmart for some armpit deodorant. While there I'll check to see if they have Journey 3D. Best Buy is close to WM so I will go there anyway.

I'll let you boyz know what I find out when I return.

Yes, heading out later and you may save me a trip to my BB and WM depending on what you find and the price!

Hey there men,

I am back from my trek to both Walmart and Best Buy (here on Long Island).

WM first: Went in, looked around, did not see Journey 3D on the new releases rack. I asked a clerk and he said it did not come in. They had 5 copies that were due in. Had no clue when they would come in and was unaware of a change of release date.

Then I got my armpit deodorant and left.

Next stop, Best Buy:
Went in (with my DVD to get the $5 upgrade coupon), looked around and there were no copies of Journey 3D on the new releases rack. I also checked the 3D section. Nada. I saw one of the white shirts who handle the blu-rays. He said Journey 3D did not come in with the shipment. It wasn't even on his clip board list of new releases. He went to the computer and it still showed a January 17th release date. He had no clue why or when it will come in, but he said it could be Thursday (the next delivery date).

So there you have it.

Amazon: in stock on Friday, Jan. 20
Walmart: did not come in / clueless as to why and when
Best Buy: did not come in / clueless as to why and when

I'll go back to Best Buy on Friday to see what's up.

If anyone here ventures out to get Journey 3D, let us know if you find a copy.

[Show spoiler]
When I was at Walmart I decided to kick it up a notch. The armpit deodorant that I bought is AXE for MEN. By tomorrow women should be swarming all over me!

Weird! Well I did just go back and look at the shipping notice to make sure I wasn't mistaken (I have several 3DBD's on order) and it was indeed for Journey 3D. Estimated delivery is Thursday, sometimes Amazon orders get here a day early though. I'll report back when (or if!) it arrives.

If amazon said they shipped it to you, then you can believe it.
