That's why I had to buy the Region Free British version. It's annoying, what some places get and others don't and vice versa.

I just wish it had subtitles. Movies with heavy, low volume dialog like this could benefit from subtitles.

I love the slipcover as well. The only unfortunate thing is that UK Blu-rays have the ugly ratings tags on their covers. I wish they were removable stickers.

On the plus side, the UK release is the only release with proper artwork. All of the other releases either have the image flipped (I don't know why the f*ck they would do that), or they have the Black Swan looking image that looks like it was compiled in 5 minutes on an online photo editor.

Honestly, I don't think the U.S. will ever get Sleeping Beauty on Blu-ray unless Criterion snatches it up. If you think about it, it's perfect Criterion material. What are the chances that Paramount will give The Criterion Collection the rights to release this on Blu-ray? I know Warner Bros. is very anal about that, but from what I know, Paramount gave Criterion the rights to release The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Besides, it would benefit Paramount seeing as Criterion releases are U.S.-only (to the dismay of many).

For anyone who wants this to be released in the U.S., here is Criterion's suggestions email address! I've heard of a few other people who requested this title as well!

Been trying to see this film for the longest. Caught a glimpse of it on the sundance channel but it was in stand-def. Tried to order from amazon UK but its only from a seller who can't deliver here to states. Anywhere else I can get this region free?

$28?! I am happy to order this from a UK website and ship at cost, as long as you cover any paypal and postage fees. Drop me a PM if you want to take me up on that.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if a parent thought they were getting Disney's Sleeping Beauty from NetFlix but got this in the mail instead? If only.

Didn't seem special to me, when I got at release. From what I remember was unusual as a matte feel so not the more usual gloss finish, but don't think it had any embossing or the lenticular image you get on many 3D disk slipcases.

The woman who wrote and directed this also wrote the novel that the Willem Dafoe movie The Hunter is based upon, definitely worth a look.
