USA I am happy they are waiting for a few reasons

I have truly seen some horrible Blu-ray transfers of older films. By far some of the best conversions where of the original James Bond movies with Sean Connery. Usually when they wait its because they are taking the time to do a quality transfer. From what I was able to find out online they are doing a 4K conversion from the original 70mm Film. Which would be fantastic just like Ben Hur.

I can truly say if they are waiting for a truly great transfer I won't object. I will still buy it the first day and see it at the Seattle Cinerama if its played there like they did for Ben Hur before its Bluray release. THE BEN HUR 4K TRANSFER ON THE CINERAMA'S SCREEN WAS TRULY AMAZING.

I hope so. Wish this was a Warner title they'd do it justice. Sony titles seem to be average to above average sometimes. If they spend time on it, then great news.

Sony takes excellent care of their classic titles. Check out The Bridge on the River Kwai, Dr. Strangelove or Taxi Driver and you'll see that you don't have to worry about the quality of Lawrence of Arabia. This is their biggest title, and they won't screw it up.

I was very surprised that LOA was referenced in Promotheus.

Can't wait

I wish people would stop posting nothings on this thread. Every time I get an e-mail letting me know a new post has been, I get excited. Maybe a date has been set. But, Nooo, just another meaningless post.

The day will come when a new post has been entered and it will be the post long waited for: A post with the true release date.

I can't wait. Until then, I have be annoyed by all the meaningless, nothing posts.

I was really pleased with the transfer they did for The Guns of Navarone - as soon as I saw that, I knew Lawrence of Arabia would look good.

Roll on September 10th.

Blind buy for me. The overwhelming praise this film receives from pretty much everyone gives me reason to invest. And what better way to see it for the first time on Blu?

You mentioned the word "Invest"

This sounds like this is going to be one expensive Blu.

Where are you getting this? You've said this several times and have never cited a source nor does anything else seem to back up that date. Forgive my skepticism but there have been so many false dates for this and I'm tired of being burned.

This site got the date from him in the first place. It's there on his word yet as I've stated multiple times. most of them lost in the forum crash, he's not shown one piece of evidence to back it up.
