I can literally go months without turning it on and only watch a movie when the mood strikes me and some time the mood strikes me in thick bursts.
I just got the Blade 3 pack from Wal-Mart and it played all disc glitch free consecutively but part 2 had an unusually long load up time and on both players too. It seemed like the player was trying to read it and did after about a minute on both and then the disc itself was trying to load an extra minute or so. Weird. Movie played just fine. I think it's something to do with the disc or something even it happened on both players but then again both players are old and could be having the same issue. No need for an exchange, did so already when one of the discs was scratched I just found it odd that was probably the longest I had to wait for a film to load up and it wasn't like some epic 3 hr 4k restored masterpiece lol. ![]() |

Don't buy Samsung players. Period. I know this from personal experience, and reading many other accounts of similar experiences.
They suck when it comes to upgrading firmware, and disc compatibility and glitches tend to be a fairly frequent issue, especially as newer discs come out over time. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=170483 https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...=257556&page=4 Last edited by Dynamo of Eternia; 06-28-2016 at 02:43 PM. |

I think there's been an issue with the bonus disc with ID4, if your player is out of support it's probably time to upgrade to a newer model, as Samsung would help the problem with a firmware upgrade.

Yeah I just need to upgrade. I was shocked at how smoothly BvS ultimate loaded and played but then I had to rewind and hit play and it froze. I did it a few times this viewing with no issues and it happens on my last rewind towards the end. I don't think the laser in the player or the remote is functioning properly anymore, it just acted as if I had paused the movie and even when turning off the player the image was still there for a few seconds.
Totally a player issue I have lived with, not anymore. By the end of this year I am getting a new player. |

time for me to upgrade this player. it did the weird freeze when I was in a rewinding state when I hit play. Luckily it was a new movie (Kong) and it never happened on the movie and I can't recreate the issue so its for sure the player. I have had a few discs over the years do that in this thing so yeah, its the player.

That's pretty goofy to say... I have 5 Samsung BD players, two of which are 4K. Never had a problem, firmware updates are frequent, dunno what sorcery buggered yours up but mine are fine and the oldest is a 2010 player.

After getting burned enough times, eventually you stop touching the stove. And in this instance, Samsung's Blu-Ray players are the stove. Even if their newer players are better, I see little reason to take a gamble on them when there are plenty of other options out there with a comparatively far better track record. |
