And hopefully, they will retain the 2-disc DVD extras, like the David Fincher commentary. I never got around to getting it before quickly going out of print.

Much as I hate to admit it, this is a film that I would gladly spend more on to get a slipcover/steelbook etc.

Wait and see for me (as usual)

Hmm, Japanese subtitles would be nice for me, but I'd rather have all the extras on the US disc.

If the extras can't be included because of rights issues, maybe something like the following UK "production" that was done sometime in the late 1980s/first half of the 1990s would be fine?

I think the piece was shown on The Late Show arts program, which was on frequently very late at night around that time. I tried finding the episode on the British Film Institute site at http://ftvdb.bfi.org.uk/sift/series/17681 but was not successful.

It would be really nice if the piece that was broadcast were included on the disc.

Default Chinatown

Not sure if this has been addressed in any other thread. I couldnt find one.

The Chinatown release in UK is absolutely barebones . While the US version (which is reviewed on this site) has its fair share of special features, the UK version has absolutely NONE. With Paramount releasing in both sides of the pond, how could this have happened. Is this an inadvertent error or is it that Paramount has decided to sucker the UK customers. I feel extremely cheated

There was a thread about this, Might have vanished with the data loss. Yep! Paramount UK denied us the extras and the nice packaging (Slip)!

Buggas!

Damn, the price of this thing went down quickly! Only £5.97 on Amazon after less than four months of release! I'd like to think I'm partly responsible for that, due to having one of the highest rated comments on the site, telling people not to buy it

Do yourself a favour, even at under £6. Avoid the UK release and pick up this (if you can still get it with a slipcover):
