Unrated vs. Original Theatrical Version - which do you prefer?

More often than not I prefer theatrical cuts to unrated. Even if I'm a big fan of the movie, they generally throw in superfluous scenes and edits that are not needed. My most recent acquisition is the Japan Underworld release (theatrical cut). I didn't care for any of the added scenes in the unrated cut, and it also hurt the pacing with the added runtime.
