For me it would be In the Mood for Love & 2046. One can only hope that Criterion will release them sooner or later

For me it is a Japanese film titled "Love Letter" from 1995. I once said that its release would be the trigger for me to get a blu-ray player. But I jumped in years ago yet this remains unrealeased. My guess is that should it get the released it will be in South Korea or Hong kong rather than Japan.

AKIRA Limited Collector's Edition, first pressing with the slipcover and book. I have the regular release but I wish I have the other one.

Right now, probably Fright Night 2.

It's long out of print on dvd, has only ever been offered in fullscreen garbage ratio, rarely shows up on television, and it's so niche that no studio really wants to release it.

And soon maybe this set? UK edition:

was sold out within hours, only 1000 copies...
Both of those were truly limited editions! I think, Suckerpunch "Comic Con" Steelbook maybe even more hard to come by than the Titanic (UK) "1000 Copies" Edition!

L.I.E. uncut would be so amazing on Blu Ray. If and when that day comes, I'll be the happiest person alive. Hook was it before, but now that's released, moving on

On the plus side, it's making me happy to see so many titles I actually do own show up so many times here.

Hm...it's a tough question, but I think for me it might be Ladyhawke.

The Lion in Winter would also be a good one. I keep hoping MGM will release it, but in that case the DVD is pretty good. Ladyhawke could really use a nice Blu-ray more, even if I like the film less.

It's interesting to take the topic a little wider and actually just discuss the movie that took me the most effort to find, period. I have three strange answers for this.

The first is what Martin Scorsese listed as his number 1 film of the 1990s, a Chinese film named Horse Thief. Despite having that honor, it was a royal ***** to track down. It seems easier to find now, but when I was looking even the poor quality Chinese DVD that exists was impossible to find.

The second is a TV special called The Amazing Bunjee Venture that I remembered from when I was a kid. I spent a ridiculous amount of money (at least 50 dollars if I remember correctly) getting a VHS tape of it, which I have transferred onto DVD. Was it worth it? Probably not, but I did it anyway.

And finally, Journey to the Center of the Earth (1993 TV), another thing I saw on TV when I was a kid and remembered for years. I never could find the stupid thing, and I had started to think I'd made it up (because it is rather crazy) but then finally it came out on the Warner Archive. I picked it up as a blind buy just to see if it was the movie I remembered and it was. It was also pretty awful, but hey now I have it.

mine was star wars.

i still remember going to see episode 6 at the theater when i was 6.

when the announcement was made that they were finally being released on blu-ray i was ecstatic. then when the set was finally in my hands i was like a 6-year-old at christmas.

nothing else mattered.

i opened the box and sat down and watched all 6 movies in a row.

i still my vhs copy of the original trilogy and the special editions of the original trilogy. i also have a vhs of episode 1 and dvd versions of all 6 movies.

my next most-wanted is the indiana jones set.
