I dont feel the hype for dark knight rises like it was dark knight. I do know that there are more theatres doing the batman marathon then the marvel comics one. we will see. I dont know if it will have alot of repeat value like the avengers had.

The premire midnight IMAX show by me sold out 2 weeks ago! That's just amazing. 6 weeks before the thing even opens. Even The Dark Knight had tickets available about a week before it opened...

Thumbs up

My Guess:

Opening Weekend: $170 - 180 M
Wordwide: $1.1 - 1.3 bn

I m pretty sure the International box office will be much bigger than the Domestic collection. TDK's hit might be credited to Ledger's death, but Inception's success was mostly have to do with Nolan. TDK made him popular across the globe, and Inception sealed him as one of the best directors currently working.
Whatever the figures will be, i definitely do not see a flop.

I’d have to say $180 million opening weekend.

I can’t see it breaking $200 million in 3 days like the Avengers.

The Dark Knight had a classic villain in The Joker which was made all the more better by Ledgers performance. They don’t have that this time around in my opinion.

I don’t have the same level of excitement for this one as I did the last one……Ledger as the Joker really intrigued me @ the time. I’m not feeling the same way about Hardy’s Bane.

I'll still be going to see it opening weekend though!!

Opening: $185M
Domestic: $519M
Worldwide: $1.2B

It won't make as much as Avengers because of the lack of 3D, but it will likely sell just as many, if not more tickets.

Opening: $165 million
Domestic: $450-460 million
Global: $1.1 billion

This film may not scale the heights of "The Avengers", but it's not going to "flop".

I know Warner is internally projecting at least $180 million for the opening weekend with some outside hope it hits 210+. Anyone thinking it will only open to $150 million are out of their minds.

Anyone thinking that this film will flop is just delusional. Yeah, everyone can have an opinion but making it an informed one really helps .

Yeah, harsh word... I have this "less than it deserves but still healthy" feeling. I don't know anything about money, but I think it will be less than Batman Begins.

I love Bats, don't get me wrong. But they underwhelming trailers, and lack of any public interest give me this "disturbance in the force".

Bane is my favourite villain. Opening day, money permitting (at least it's 2D).

Batman Begins . Its opening weekend collection was $48m. I don't see in anyway TDKR doing less than this even if the movie sucks big time. After all Brave had a $66m opening weekend.

TDKR will surpass Batman Begins final tally by its fifth day in release...at worst.
