At the end of the below video, they mention a tentative release month (subject to change, of course). The video's cool too :

Interesting little exchange on Twitter:

Quote:
Robert Meyer Burnett ‏@BurnettRM
@MMSnodgrass Homegirl gonna' be finding some #TNGS2
extended goodness in her mailbox tomorrow. Fully remastered in HD
with NEW VFX...

Melinda M. Snodgrass ‏@MMSnodgrass
@BurnettRM Very excited also nervous. Will it stand up? Haven't
watched it in years.

Robert Meyer Burnett ‏@BurnettRM
@MMSnodgrass The Twitterverse expects you to tweet all your
reactions. #TNGS2 #measureofamanextended

Melinda M. Snodgrass ‏@MMSnodgrass
@BurnettRM IPad in one hand. Popcorn in other. Will be ready to
Tweet. Can't believe grown woman just typed that.

Robert Meyer Burnett ‏@BurnettRM
@MMSnodgrass Hey...guess what Melinda...WE ALREADY DID!
It's ON like Donkey Kong!

Robert Meyer Burnett ‏@BurnettRM
@MMSnodgrass Why not make it a twitter event? MMS, the writer
of MEASURE OF A MAN, LIVE-TWEETS her reaction to the
EXTENDED VERSION!

Robert Meyer Burnett ‏@BurnettRM
@MMSnodgrass We'll hit up EVERY TREK website. How cool
would that be?

Robert Meyer Burnett ‏@BurnettRM
@MMSnodgrass NO ONE has ever done that...and you'll be the
first to see it. Let's make it 8:00 PM Pacific Time THIS FRIDAY NIGHT.

Melinda M. Snodgrass ‏@MMSnodgrass
@BurnettRM Okay, sure, why not. I can pause and type, and do a
face palm, watch some more. Tweet some more.

Robert Meyer Burnett ‏@BurnettRM
@MMSnodgrass Radical. I'm tuning in.

Melinda M. Snodgrass ‏@MMSnodgrass
@BurnettRM I love you.

Robert Meyer Burnett ‏@BurnettRM
@MMSnodgrass Tell me that again over dinner after we record
your commentary with director Robert Scheerer and
@mikeokuda

Melinda M. Snodgrass ‏@MMSnodgrass
@BurnettRM @mikeokuda It's a date.

Michael Okuda ‏@MikeOkuda
@MMSnodgrass @BurnettRM Make it a double-date!

Back in the late 80's and according to several fanzines I read a lot of people that had been "rocking the boat" once too often were forced or coerced to leave (might have had something to do with Berman's growing influence).

Gates McFadden was the most prominent victim and Andrew Probert one from behind-the-scenes (he was really struggling for canon continuity and credible, realistic science fiction. Did you know that the shuttlecraft in "Skin of Evil" was originally supposed to pierce through the rock before coming to a stop on the other side?).

It was then a letter writing campaign that brought Gates McFadden back according to the fanzines, but that might have just been gossip. I didn't know of such campaign but wish there would have been one bringing Andy Probert back.

It's a great thing Andy was enabled to participate for the bonus features of Season One and Mark and Robert would probably agree with me that this should have been one of the very first considerations for the bonus features...

Conjecture: is there some event they're waiting for to announce the date?

Excellent news about the commentary - great way to enhance the value of this season set (though I've always been fond of season 2, I have to concede it isn't as strong as the later seasons)!

That twitter feed made it seem like it you could download it as opposed to it being an audio option. Very cool! I hope the change (mentioned in video) in companies doesn't bring any problems.

Robert Meyer Burnett ‏@BurnettRM
Hey @MMSnodgrass...I DO NOT want you to LIVE-TWEET the
Extended "Measure of a Man" tonight. It's simply not finished enough.
#blameme

Robert Meyer Burnett ‏@BurnettRM
@MMSnodgrass The Video looks AMAZING...but the audio simply
isn't finished...so the experience won't be optimum. Best foot
forward...

Melinda M. Snodgrass ‏@MMSnodgrass
Robert, in director mode, has decreed Measure not quite ready
for prime time. So no live tweet tonight.

What was going to happen exactly? She was gonna say "sweet, what a great episode I wrote?"

I imagine it would've been similar to the commentary she's slated to record with the director and Mr. Okuda. Though, I suppose it's good to just save the first reactions until then (also with three people, there will hopefully be less dead spots and not a lot of narrating what's happening on screen, which a lot of commentaries fall prey to).

It was a very good setup though - the tree roots which jump and get you. That was a sufficiently creepy idea in an otherwise as-horrible-as-all-clip-shows-are clip show.

Even though I think season two was still suffering some growing pains, I think that the best of season two greatly outweighs the best of season one. Yes, there are some horrible season one level clunkers like "The Outrageous Okona" "Manhunt", "The Dauphin" and the horrible clip show "Shades of Gray" in year two, BUT...there is nothing as good in season one as episodes like "The Measure of a Man", "Q Who?" "The Emissary" "Peak Performance" "Elementary Dear Data" "A Matter of Honor" and "Pen Pals". I think there are some really classic rewatchable episodes in season two, way more so than season one. At least in my opinion.

Of course it was a post about the extended version of 'Measure of a Man' being readied, but it coincidentally also happened to be a concise summary of what had happened with the season one set.

Humor, anyone?

Sainsburys Entertainment have the UK release date of Season 2 down as the 10th December.

http://www.sainsburysentertainment.c...duct=E11125630

They were the first site to list a release date for Season 1 and it was accurate so this might be also.
