Default Kate Beckinsale for Wonder Woman!

I know some of you will think she's too old to play the part but I think she looks incredible and she's just on the cusp of 40. She's played in physical roles and has the look (even though I think she could buff up just a bit).

I get that this isn't the greatest picture of her to be even considered as Wonder Woman but I do think she has something that most guys will agree they would want to see her play that role!

Edit: Picture is not showing, go here if curious: http://egotastic.com/photos/kate-bec...e-uk-rights-9/

To be clear, I'm open to suggestions as well, just not Jessica Biel. She is a BLAH actress that does nothing for me. Please continue

I don't think she's "too old" at all.
When someone is as brutally and ruthlessly hot as Kate Beckinsale, it doesn't matter how old she is at all.

Wonder Woman is a tough call though. There is a huge curve for a corny factor.

There are a few who really "look" the part (Megan Fox) for instance, but might not be able to nail it.

I would actually much rather see a good Supergirl movie

Linda Carter was perfect so she should be the model (no pun intended).
I have to think about this more.
[Show spoiler]I think...Pam Grier for Wonder Woman!!!

I don't think Kate Beckinsale is too old to play Wonder Woman, but if you wanted to someone younger how about Alexandra Daddario ( best known for Annabeth from Percy Jackson )...

Well, Kate looks good and all, and she does have the action star physicality as well, but in the comics, Wonder Woman is around 23 in "The New 52" side of things, and if they plan on building a franchise around her, they might want to go after someone younger. Those are just my thoughts about how it's going to turn out, but for what it's worth, you could do a lot worse than Beckinsale for the role imo...

How about Nina Dobrev? She has a big following and the looks to back it up. Mind you, I've never actually seen her act though, never did see Vampire Diaries, but I figure she's got to be good for something since the show's still running

She's the best choice by far and has already played an action hero on television in skimpy clothing. Beckinsale is too old, particularly if you stick with the classic costume with the legs entirely exposed.

I'm almost positive though that WB would change the entire costume on screen, to appease feminist elements. Originally the television costume for the aborted pilot was changed until fans started moaning about it.

I don't think she's the best choice, but I definitely wouldn't mind it, at all! Everyone seems to think that Wonder Woman can't be brought to screen effectively, I don't get that excuse, not in this day and age (it just means Nolan needs to do it) .

They already had somebody perfect for the part, but the TV pilot was a bust:

I think it's just too corny, unless they explicitly went in a campy direction.

I'll stick with my Rebecca Hall recommendation. It's wiser to go with the Brits! You don't want some dummy American actress that looks the part but just comes off as memorable as Halle Berry's Catwoman or Barbwire! Superheroes should be cast by good actors anyway!

I like Beckinsale but not for Wonder Woman.

The only decent performance I have seen Kate Beckinsale give was in Snow Angels. Everything else I have seen she has been rather forgettable, un-magnetic and bland.
Maybe she could do it but I dunno. I would rater have Eva Green or someone else.

I'm glad to see this thread taking off! After giving it some thought, I might have to agree with most of you that Kate will be too old (sorry babe, you're never too old in my eyes) to play WW.

But my friend keeps at me about Lynn Collins, from John Carter, to play her role so I might have to look into her and see what movies she has done before that one.

Lynn Collins is 35. By the time they get around to a Wonder Woman film she'll be as old as Beckinsale.

Though I believe Rhona Mitra would have owned the roll with her no nonsense presence, she is 37 and too old for the part, sadly. I firmly believe whoever plays Wonder Woman shouild at least be 30. I just dont see some cutsey 22 year old playing the part. Thats not wonder woman IMO. You dont have a 22 year old as Superman, same here.

At the moment all I can think of is Abbie Cornish

Abbie Cornish - 5'8" Just turned 30

In Sucker Punch
