Are they going to have limited edition covers like they did with the dvds? Also, this will be the first season out of 13 released without commentary on every episode. I feel like this will get re-released.

Yeah they really skimped on this set compared to the others. I'm definitely holding off purchasing this.

I will be buying this since I'm devoted Simpsons fan. Yes, the show isn't as hilarious as it was in it's prime(seasons 3-9) but it's still damn funny and manages to make me laugh the same is it has the last 20 yrs. Thankfully the show still has heart, which is demonstrated in the episode" Eeny Teeny Maya Moe". Hopefully the commentary and Tracey Ullman shorts are included in this set.

Normally, the cast & crew spend time to make the commentaries and other extras which is why they show takes so long to get a single season out. They have to work on the show first and extras second. Since the 20th season coincides with the 20th anniversary, it technically was "rushed."

Matt Groening created new artwork for the menus and the only other extra is the Morgan Spurlock documentary on the series. I'm sure that if Fox didn't want to release this so soon, we may have gotten it 25 years from now with all of the extras we've been spoiled with on the previous seasons.

So yeah, hold off if you want but keep in mind that it could be a long, long, long, long, LONG while before a better edition comes around. The cast & crew still have seasons 13 to 19 to go through.

i usually purchase all simpsons seasons on day 1, however i may wait a bit for this one.

Region free? Perfect.. $40 is dirt-cheap IMO

When released here, the DVD seasons cost $80 in stores! I've never listened to the commentaries on the other sets so that wont be a problem.. A documentary on the series sounds good to me - will probably watch that

For only being 2 discs, this set is pretty expensive. In Canada, Best Buy and Future Shop are charging $54.99.

I'll probably still pick it up though, huge fan of the Simpsons and it looks awesome on FOX in HD.

From the press release, it does not sound like a trailer. Rather an abridged form of the full-length special coming this Sunday.

i have seasons 1-12 but the show has really lost steam since then. i dont think i even saw a single episode of season 20 or any from the past few years. however, as a fan of the simpsons from the very first episode i will most likely pick this up if the price goes down a little.
