Lol. Luckily I sold a shed load of stuff to CEX.

I see that you are enjoying your Hitchcock collection I've seen Vertigo, The Birds and The man who knew too much so far. Three true classics. I couldn't fault the transfers, really happy with it.

How does it work with CEX mate? Do they give you decent cash for unwanted BDs? One just opened up here, may be a sign that I need to get my butt down there.

I always thought their game trade-in prices were better than for DVDs & blus. Luckily, they have a centralised pricing system, so like Ricster says check their website and it'll tell you what they pay per item. The prices do sometimes change too (both up and down) - so watch out for that.

Well, here is what I promised you all:

Friday:

HMV Oxford Street, London - 5 for £30 offer:

Fopp - Dogwoof DVDs (£5 each):

I also got Crude, but didn't realise it was damaged before it was too late to take back, so ordering a replacement copy via Amazon

I also picked up these two titles from Fopp:

I have Wings Of Desire on Blu-ray already, but as I have all the other titles on DVD in this packaging, and as it was only £3 like the others, I bought it to complete the set (apart from needing Wim Wenders' Documentaries). I was going to get We Are What We Are in the HMV 5 for £30 offer, but got it here instead as I got Hansel & Gretel in the offer

Here's what I came back to in the post:

I don't know if I have already shown Little Lord Fauntleroy, but the one I had originally was damaged, and so this is a copy I ordered elsewhere. The David Lynch boxset was sent by Sainsburys in a cardboard envelope and how it didn't get damaged, I just don't know

As for the items from Play, I haven't shown all the digibooks as they came in a big box, but six of them:

Atonement
Out Of Africa
Mamma Mia!
Spartacus
Jaws
King Kong

were all badly dented in the bottom left corner. Bridget Jones's Diary and Ray were in the same box but somehow were undamaged. Even Blade Runner (which you can see in the picture below was OK, just a minor knock, but nowhere near immediately noticeable. The Gladiator digibook was sent separately. Not all items in this picture are from Play

The other items in this picture below are 21 Jump Street from MyMoviextras. I also had 10 cinema tickets, but I'm sure it was supposed to be 12, but never mind, that was all that was in the envelope. There is also Blade Runner, which I mentioned and Nighthawks/Strip Jack Naked which is the last BFI Blu-ray I need. The cardboard case was slightly damaged in two of the corners and part of the inner sleeve has a slight crease on it, but seeing that it is hard to get hold of, I will put up with this. The other item is the Lubitsch boxset. I ordered this direct from MOC about two years ago. It was one of the first things I ordered from them and the top left hand corner of the box was damaged. I wasn't sure what to do so left it. I decided to e-mail Kevin the other week and he was happy to send me a replacement box out. What I did not expect was to receive it with the DVDs in as well. Now that is excellent customer service. Anyway, here's the picture:

I realised that I also picked up Being Elmo, but the item was not scanned. This was also £5, but I was not charged. I am on a course in London next week and although the postcodes seem like it is a good distance away, it is only a mile from Fopp. This is the one I most wanted

I will give them a call tomorrow and ask them to put it to one side. If the opening hours I found are correct and they open until 10pm that is fine. I will double check when I call them tomorrow as this is £10 elsewhere

BTW I have decided to send back Nighthawks for a refund and I found it from another Amazon seller. It is only 99p more, and it was bothering me enough in the end to send it back

They just look AMAZING!

Not to be vulgar and talk about money but is the price on the box ballpark to what you paid for the set? Our Japanese cousins know how to knock out a limited edition!

Hi chipster,

No, there was 30% off that price. Steelbook is mint. What they say about Japan steels is spot on.

With all these discs, is there any exclusive video content exclusive to the Japaneses editions ? There is 3 BDs, for example, in the JP LE release.

Simply incredible sets! Thanks for the pics.

Where's the best place to order stuff like this these days (not that I can afford it, I'm just interested)?
