According to my mate, who I'll admit is often full of crap, Zavvi won't be selling this. Just Looper, Lawless and possibly Skyfall.

Skyfall will probably depend on HMV though, which is why it is taking so long to be added.

Now Hilco Have bought HMV they will be getting new stock in so Skyfall and Taken 2 are a real possibility from HMV now.

If Zavvi don't add Skyfall by the end of this week - HMV pre-orders are looking good.

According to beeb news site they have not currently bought the business, they have only bought their debts, one would assume that means their leaning towards getting the whole package but it ain't a done deal yet.

Bit of trouble with HMV deliveries by the looks

From another poster in the HMV thread

Quote:
Just had a phone call with the poor girl on the hmv.com hotline. The number is still manned, even if the site isn't. Which is strange.

That final batch of paid-for hmv.com goods are indeed parcelled up and waiting to go, but there is a dispute with the delivery company over an unpaid bill. As of two days ago, Deloitte were outright refusing to pay them. As of yesterday, the buyout of HMV started to look possible, so they were "unsure" as to the status of those orders. As of "a couple of hours ago", they have messaged her to say the orders "will" be posted out, but the timeframe is not confirmed yet. Reading between the lines, the buyout went through earlier this afternoon. Essentially, we'll get them, but we might have a wait on our hands. If we'd have ordered a day or hours earlier we'd have been fine...

I'm amazed she passed on this quite sensitive information to me over the phone, but she sounded like she'd been shouted at by arsewipes all day and had nothing to lose by telling someone asking politely for a change.

If you need it, the HMV helpline (being nice works wonders!):

020 7303 0700
http://www.zetaminor.com/roobarb/sho...argains/page55

So I wonder how long it's going to take. I've paid for stuff that was marked as sent and hasn't actually been sent. So I hold no hope for anything in the next few weeks.

I may end up with the reverse problem... ordered an HMV exclusive steel (Expendables 2 - with an online voucher!) just before they went into Administration.

Assuming I was not going to get it as they hadn't sent it out by the time they went down, I found (the last) copy in my local HMV store and bought it.

If they come back online and then automatically send it through I don't know if I send it back I'll get the online voucher refunded or what...

Just eBay it.

It doesn't make you a bad person. You'll get more back.

The Australian site JBHifi is offering a SteelBook, which looks to be the exact as ours.

I'm still praying HMV manage to deliver this, well this and Skyfall, even if it becomes available elsewhere I wouldn't order it unless I can at least log into my HMV account to check that they have cancelled my pre-order.

Yeah except for the fact the Australian SB is double the price and costs a lot to import. Looks like we got to kiss goodbye to low priced Steels.

Likely to depend on if the distributors have had their bills settled either by the administrators or a buyer. They're very unlikely to release any stock to HMV with no likelihood of seeing their existing debts paid.

The likelyhood of HMV having the steelbook in store is slim to none. They arent getting any new stock in unless the company has been bought out. Even if that happens today, the amount of admin work plus recieiving the stock from the publishers will mean it wont happen any time soon. Even Skyfall is slim to none and thats a few weeks away.

Don't be so sure, in store today they have the new Biffy Clyro album and by all accounts should have some new release DVD in next week too, can't say for sure on Taken yet but hopeful. It's more unlikely the web site will be up soon though as there are different laws covering distance selling than there are for the stores.

Surely someone will be selling this steelbook? Or are we just going to have to wait till HMV are all sorted out and pick it up weeks after it's actual release?
