That's nothing ... you should see what the Fright Night blu-ray goes for.

Happens more than you'd think, but the market is fickle... so sell while you can if you're considering it! For example, Zodiac is getting a re-release next month, so prices are likely to drop again.
He said he never seen an OOP title go for that much. All the ones mentioned don't seem to consistently sell as high as Never say Never again

It is pretty bad and it's not even part of the Bond canon.

A rumor I've heard, and wouldn't surprise me that it's true, is that MGM/Sony/Fox who control the 007 James Bond Franchise were able to somehow put a stop of any more printing of this "unofficial" 007 title.

The price mentioned above was $70. With the exception of Sleeping Beauty, all the titles I mentioned are priced on Amazon at more than that: Zodiac for $95 (with my caveat regarding the pending re-release), Third Man for $195, Man Who Fell for $110. I apologize for Sleeping Beauty... it's listed at $69.99, a whopping $0.01 below $70.

Yes, Never Say Never runs $160 right now, also more than $70. But that's in line with those other titles; I think my point safely stands.

The Terminator 2 Skynet 6 disc limited t-800 skull set was listed on Amazon for about $335 the other week (it's now listed for $199 from Amazon, and $126 from third party), when it's not even discontinued. It's been available on Lionsgateshop.com for years for $111, but they have had it on sale over the last few weeks for $45.

I didn't notice the $70 part he was replying to, thought he was talking about the actual going price for it, so fair enough point.

I doubt it.

And the movie is terrible. I'd watch ANY of the Eons ANY day over this one. No one is missing much. And it will be in print again, people just have to be patient. Anyone who pays over twenty for this is a moron.

I actually have all of these except for The Third Man, I also have Fright Night. That is the only other title I knew was selling for crazy prices, but I refuse to sell!

MGM/Fox are the ones who released the Blu-ray in the first place, but yeah I guess that would put them in a place of power to stop making them. But why release it in the first place? But I can see the Bond producers asking MGM/Fox to pull it just to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the franchise without confusion. But then again, the 1967 Casino Royale is still available....

You're in for a surprise! Check out the original Fright Night, and Night of the Living Dead (1990) on eBay, and Amazon.

After having spent $10 for the other Bond movies last year i sucked it up and bought NSNA for $16+ on Amazon. Wasn't happy about the price, but I did it to complete the Bond bluray set even if it is an unofficial title.

I am sure used stores will have it. I saw it at that store fye last year but it was the combo in a DVD case, not bluray case.

I picked up a used copy at MovieStop last week for $7.99. Didn't realize until I saw this thread that it was OOP and going for such ridiculous prices.

It is a terrible movie, but to die hard Bond fans, I guess they need it to complete their collection. Doe anyone remember the big debacle with the DVD? It had a defect in manufacturing where it skipped a scene. People were pissed!

This film can still be ordered on Blu-ray Disc in Hong Kong. So if anyone really wants it, you can find it for ~$25 by ordering it through DDD House here:

http://dddhouse.com/v3/product_detai...ProductID=9576

And, yes, DDD House is legit, reliable, etc. I've used them many times to buy my Studio Ghibli BDs.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm a big Bond fan and have been looking for a reasonable price on this. I wish I kept the VHS from when I was a kid.

It's a non-Eon production, and is not property of them even though the character (and actor) are used. It's a "non-official" Bond film.

It was a rogue Bond film, made by a chap named Kevin McClory who owned the film rights toThunderball (via a complicated series of legal matters) and so has nothing to do with the series proper.

People tend to use the term 'unofficial', but I think that makes it seem a bit shady. It's all above board.
