So there is no way... NO WAY, that walmart accounts for 40% of disc sales. I am surprised the selection is so sparse around here. THis is a pretty large, wealthy, technology heavy area
EXACTLY. I live in the suburbs of Washington DC and the nearest Walmart that sells HD DVD or Bd's is 50 miles away. WM accounts for less than 5% of HD sales IMO.

This is most likely true since all of the Wal-Marts that I have been to barely have anything in Hi Def to sell. Typically only a few copies of each. Target more likely sells more. They still have a big stack of Tranformers HD DVD. What is more embarassing? Selling less than what everyone expected, or grossly overstating what you did sell and then later everyone finding out it was not true. Paramount have been making fools of themselves ever since they accepted the $150million. First everyone thought they were fools for doing that, then the Jack Ryan collection snafu and now this.

Actually, if they gave toshiba 100,000 copies to bundle with players for the holidays it would equal the 190K they initialy claimed.... just a thought.

I don't think bundled copies count as titles sold.

Wow, Paramount is screwing up so bad it's almost like they are doing it on purpose. Hopefully they keep ticking off Warner and Warner will just go Blu-Ray exclusive!
