Has anybody in here upgraded their Happy Birthday to Me Blu-ray to the UK Indicator disc? I own the corrected Shock/Cinema Cult disc already, so I'm really just wondering if there are there any major differences in picture quality between the two.
If anybody can chime in, or point me to a screenshot comparison between them, I'd appreciate it. If there's only a marginal or negligible difference, I'll probably just keep the disc I already have. Thanks! |

so what happened to the planned release of braindead to blu ray a few moons ago? Was it just cancelled for licencing issues and never heard from again?

That Flesh for Frankenstein is a 1080i upscale, but at least it ain't censored like the Japanese blu. See a few posts back. Best option of that particular release around atm unfortunately. |

In for both of these providing the pq on Criss Cross is okay. The Day of the Jackal should be a huge improvement by default and i wouldn't mind having even an average version until a suitable upgrade comes along, if and when that would be. |

Word is the Cinema Cult release of De Palma's "The Fury" features the same transfer Arrow and Carlotta utilized.
Does it look as nice? Any problems with the encode, etc.? Looks like my only A-compatible option featuring the new restoration... |

I appreciate the feedback (and link). In terms of picture quality, what sets the Arrow apart from the CC? It'd be a pity if Shock took the apparently beautiful new master and cramped its style with compression or a botched encode. .. Last edited by AllOuttaBubbleGum; 02-25-2017 at 07:33 AM. |

From br.com
Cinema Cult specs Video - Codec: MPEG-4 AVC Resolution: 1080p Aspect ratio: 1.85:1 Original aspect ratio: 1.85:1 Audio - English: DTS-HD Master Audio 4.0 Music: LPCM 2.0 Subtitles - None Discs -Blu-ray Disc Single disc (1 BD-50) Arrow specs Video - Codec: MPEG-4 AVC (34.97 Mbps) Resolution: 1080p Aspect ratio: 1.83:1 Original aspect ratio: 1.85:1 Audio - English: DTS-HD Master Audio 4.0 English: LPCM 2.0 (48kHz, 16-bit) Music: LPCM 2.0 Subtitles - English SDH Discs - Blu-ray Disc Single disc (1 BD-50) I threw both discs in earlier today, and do feel the Arrow image looks slightly superior, but not by to much, and the CC is still very watchable. Unfortunately, there are no Subs/ Closed Captions on the CC release should that be an issue. But for just short of AUS $10, it's a pretty cheap grab. Confirmed it def is Region A compatible & extras played too. ![]() |
