100% yes & day one buy.
Have been waiting & wishing on this for years. If this was to be released it would be in my opinion, the greatest horror ever released on 3D at the very least in terms of 3D quality. I was a little too young to catch this in the theaters but i have seen the VHS, DVD & Blu Ray versions and from those formats alone you can see how many great moments a good 3D transfer would bring it in this film. Personally, i think it's just a matter of time. The studios all seem to brush aside Jason but there have been so many Friday films, a ton of different releases, box sets, a video game .... i mean, he was even on Arsenio once. Like i said, a matter of time. |

Power in numbers - do we all email customer support and request an update on whether this will be released or at least a reason why it hasn't?
I have emailed Paramount about this before a couple times, they are not good about answering questions, but hell if a bunch of us ask maybe they will at least say something to somebody.. Edit: I went ahead and sent off another email to Paramount. Last edited by Jsmith82; 01-06-2014 at 09:35 PM. |

I was a projectionist in the 80's in Dallas and showed this film in 3D. It was a new fangled 3D where the 35MM film was split down the middle with two pictures. They gave us a special lens where it took those two pictures and combined them into one. A producer of the film came out to our theatre and helped us load it up & set the lenses.
It looked like any other 3D at the time for me. I like 3D for the depth, but something in my eyesight doesn't let me feel very close to the picture, where I see some folks being able to reach out to touch items. |

What are your recollections of the audiences experience with the movie at the time? I imagine that some of the 3D effects would have been received very well. |

I have the old field-sequential 3D version on DVD but you need a CRT TV to watch it.

It was a bit misaligned, but I disagree about color, the depth looked good to me and I've never had a problem seeing depth on color anaglyphs in general. Keep in mind that human vision is based on seeing all colors as mixes of the three colors red/blue/green, and with color anaglyphs you don't use red/blue glasses, instead you use red/cyan, where cyan is an even mix of blue and green. So the red filter only gives you the red part of the left-eye image with the green and blu filtered out (so white things look red, and a blue/green object with zero red in it would look black), and the cyan filter has the green and blu part of the right-eye image with the red filtered out (white things look cyan, and a pure red would look black). There could occasionally be problems with an object disappearing into the background with one eye but not the other, but I think that only crops up if you have something almost pure red or zero red against a completely white or completely black background.
