JK! But I do love Thomas The Tank Engine (except for the CGI episodes).

But I'm sure Anchor Bay will get this right (I still have upmost faith in them). Incidentally, they should look into the Phantasm films next.

The original Halloween Blu-Ray was actually the first Blu-Ray I ever purchased. The Carpenter/Curtis commentary, along with the rumblings of a new transfer (not to mention a 4K sourced transfer) pretty much have me sold on the new one...

I wonder if any of the lost footage that Don May uncovered will be shown in any form. I'd like to see some of it.

I've lost count of the number of times I've bought this flick. I'm such a sucker, but count me in for a Day 1 purchase! Hope it has the extended cut though.

I'm confused. Are some people complaining about how many times this has been re-released? There has been only one Blu-ray version of this film on the shelves for nearly 5 years now...so what's the big deal about an updated Blu-ray release?

I am seeing people saying that Anchor Bay keeps re-releasing this film as if they do it just for the cash grab aspect of it but like I said they have only released it on Blu-ray once and that was nearly 5 years so I don't understand. Or are they just strictly speaking about DVD's?

Hopefully it has the correct color timing, the television version(in HD), lossless audio on the mono track, and all the extras.

Now, if they remaster it in HD, that would be great. We were already lucky that they found the original anamorphic camera negatives to even get a widescreen DVD.

Seriously adored the first John Carpenter's Halloween. It was so good!

I have never touched the sequels because I was so happy with the first one that I didn't want it to be ruined for me with further sequels, whether they do it justice or not.

Sadly, I did see the Rob Zombie remake, which was horrible... but Rob Zombie's Halloween II, for some reason, really hit the sweet spot for me. I felt it was significantly more interesting and well-made than the original.

I may have been too hard on his first one, though.

Damn ur missing out if u ain't seen Halloween II (1981).
Equal with the first one IMO. II continues part one exactly where one left off, go buy it!
Rob Zombie's remakes are good but sucked major compared to the originals. IMO.

I always find it interesting that people find Halloween II (81) on par or close to as good as the original.

In my opinion it ranks:

-Halloween (Original)
-Halloween III
-Halloween IV
-Halloween (Zombie)
-H2 (Zombie)
-Halloween 6: The Producers Cut
-Halloween II (81)
-Halloween V
-Halloween H20
-Halloween Resurrection (it hurts just to remember it exists)

I love that Halloween II (81) has a very similar look to the film as the original and I've watched it plenty of times but honestly, I find it a little boring sometimes.

I like most of the franchise a lot so I suppose it doesn't really matter where any of them sit on my list because they all (except Resurrection! Once, when it was released was enough) get played a lot.

I'm sorry, but this kind of attitude triggers all my alarms.

You are willing to CENSOR a movie (I hate euphemisms like "editing" or "sanitizing", when you just want something to be altered to comply with your morals), just so you can share it with "younger viewers"?

If you don't want those younger viewers to be exposed to the movie's "language, sex and nudity" (which I find VERY mild), that's your moral pregorrative, of course, and I have no business there and, consequently, nothing to say.

You can wait until you consider them ready (although I do find it quite odd that you seem to consider them mature enough to be scared to death by a screen slasher killing people in gruesome ways, but not to enjoy onscreen sex).

But the notion of purging the elements that you object to, so it conforms to your morals and thus you can show the movie in censored form now to someone else is completely unacceptable.

You just show them the movie or not, but leave the movie itself alone.

I'd only go for such a thing to see an MVC high bit rate encode because I can watch 3-D blu-rays in 2-D and the MVC encodes look a decent amount better with better depth in 2-D
