I watched MOS yesterday, and I really liked it. I saw last week that WB has green-lit and is fast tracking a sequel. I really look forward to seeing where they will take the DC universe, but it seems to me that they don't have any sort of plan like Marvel has. That gives me pause, because if they have no plan or direction they will never be able to compete with what the Marvel universe is doing.

I don't want Luthor in the sequel. What I want is a better flow to the story on the screen and flesh out the characters more and reduce the over top action. I wonder if we'll ever get a super hero movie that approaches 3 hrs, I mean over the 2:45 mark?

You do realize that Snyder will probably direct the sequel....expect more over the top action because, well....it's Snyder.

I'd like to see villains that haven't been portrayed in a live-action movie yet. Bring on Brainiac and Metallo for Man Of Steel 2!

I'm glad to see some people liking MOS. I've seen quite a few negative postings. We'll see what box office numbers will be after a few more weeks.

After reading the posts on here, I'm going to wait till MOS comes out on video. I'll definitely rent it first.

Luthor needs to be the focus of the sequel. Its vital they get him established before a justice League movie.

For those who think he will be a lame villain - remember this isnt the Donner films

I have a feeling Snyder will go in this direction:

I don't think Lex should personally go toe to toe with Superman. Get a super powered villain as his lackey.

Maybe a storyline where Lex politically maneuvers the public in to turning against Superman. It would be very easy to blame the whole Metropolis thing on him. The Donner Lex is too ridiculous, get closer to Smallville Lex where he is a much more grey character than black and white. Smallville Lex is the best Lex to date.

Personally Im a little burned out on the hero being viewed (almost always extremely unfairly) as a villain. The Spiderman and Dark Knight movies ran that plot into the ground.

I wouldnt mind Lex controlling a villain from the distance, but would prefer him show his own brillance and power first and foremost. Maybe have some crazy plot twist where towards the end of the movie Lex backstabs and kills the main villain himself and becomes the final villain for superman to fight.

Im not familiar with the Smallville Lex, so I cant comment on that. The Superman: The Animated Series Lex is what I would like to see.

Basically a Lex that doesn't see himself as the villain. He's protecting the people against the alien.

That's the public persona Lex tries to convey in the comics as far as I can tell. He uses false pretenses to gain public support, between that and his nearly infinite resources he becomes President. Would be interesting to see that happen in a Superman movie to see how Superman would deal with his arch nemesis in a vastly powerful political office.

Don't worry a sequel is coming. It already has about 200 mil world wide. Plus about 160 mil in product deals. Will end up probably over 700 mil world wide. It has great scores from general audiences, which movies are really made for.

Wouldn't he just be able to punch Lex in the face?

It's called heat vision right in the chest piece to tear that Krytonite out before it That said, that armor just says punch me in the face anyway. I hope film Lex will be more subtle than that, after all the main prognosticator in this film spent most of the time he was on-screen wearing armor too.

Default Last Son of Krypton Villians should be...

Brainiac (Lex Luthor in the background). 3rd film should logically feature Lex and should also include Darkseid, leading to The Justice League.

1.) DC/Warner better get moving if the want to either reboot Green Latern (or just ignore the prior on screen fiasco), or do a Flash or Wonder Woman solo (sorry, but forget Aquaman or Martian Manhunter, unless DC decides that they really want to take some serious risks ala Marvel). Unless they just want to jump to a Justice League film and then do individual films featuring Aquaman, the Flash, Wonder Woman, the Martian Manhunter, etc... (although this would be a mistake).

2.) Anyone .... ANYONE... who doesn't think Lex Luthor is Superman's MOST dangerous adversary just hasn't been paying attention. I'm talking about Lex ... not the mentally deficient versions (Hackman/Spacey) and not even the single decent (okay, excellent) approximation given to us by Michael Rosenbaum. Who knows? Maybe the next on screen representation could reinvent Lex Luthor in much the same way as Heath Ledger's portrayal did for the Joker.
