I think I may go for the Sony 4K (already arranged a demo with Sony New Zealand) then I don't have to worry about a projector purchase for 5 years. All this projector thinking is giving me a headache.
There is no clear choice this year. Just a whole lot of marketing crap. No matter what choice I make it will be wrong. So I might as well go big mistake.
I'm bummed! Sony is coming in to town, at a local AV shop to demo the VPL-VW600ES on Saturday... BUT I'm out of town with work!

Quick review out of Germany. Looks positive. I like those screenshots. They look good. Not available in Germany until spring 2014 (I don't know when that is). It could explain why there is no world wide release yet????

Nah,

Not yet. I wasn't happy with the price (US$8,000.00).

Hey if it is awesome then I'm still keen. I'm going to wait for reviews first tho.

Sony 500ES is actually top of my list now (could change).

I would get the SONY 500ES. I heard so many good things about it plus it has HDMI 2.0 and you'd be future proof! You may have to continue to deal with conventional bulbs but the price per performance ratio is much better then the Optomo HD91! Sony bulbs are known to be one of the best!

Agreed that the Sony500ES is a great machine and probably much better than the Optoma 91 on all counts except maybe 3D ghosting.

But for those of us in the US with a $4000 budget, I'm still looking forward to a real-world review of the Optoma HD91 with the latest firmware for dyanmic black optimization.

Anyone get one yet???

I actually saw the HD-90 in action two weeks ago. I was impressed.
