Yeah, I'm very disappointed with the finale. 55 minutes of build up and then...that!?!

An absolutely atrocious second season, save for a couple of memorable episodes, and yet I still want a third season anyway.

I thought the idea was fine, but the execution was really bad... much better overall idea than the first half of season 1. and the whole thing with
[Show spoiler]Jason actually being Kerry's son was dumb and seemed like just shock value

I was wondering when they would
[Show spoiler]play with time like that
but doing it with
[Show spoiler]a gross incest storyline
was the worst possible execution of that idea. Then again, this is the same show and season that had
[Show spoiler]that revolting storyline about 11-year-olds getting periods and being forced to have sex
. Someone on the Wayward Pines writing stuff sure is
[Show spoiler]one sick puppy
.

Thought the finale sucked. I liked the final "twist" in episode 9 though

I can imagine they wrote the show with very little time to think it over. Fox probably said, "Hey, do you want to do another season? If so, we have to start production in 3 months."
The books, Wayward Pines, I haven't read yet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wayward_Pines_Trilogy
I wonder how closely season 2 followed the books?

Having seen season 2, which didn't have enough twists or links later on to the characters introduced (and often
[Show spoiler]killed
in the same episode), I'll leave it at that, and am not hoping for a season 3 and actually doubt a season 3 will happen.

Season 1 I'll watch from time to time in the years ahead and glad to have it on video. Season 2 I'll keep alongside it just to remember that a second season isn't always necessary if it can't match the greatness of the first.

It was good to see this made it to the 10th and final episode though, without being canceled. 10 weeks. That went fast looking back.

I never read the books, but was told they burned through all three books in the first season and season two is an original story, except for the ending of going back into stasis which was the end of the final book.

The
[Show spoiler]incest
stuff was a lot worse than the
[Show spoiler]forced coupling to reproduce
, I mean I wouldn't support that either or anything
[Show spoiler]but they only have, what, 1000 residents? they want to get the population up...
but the
[Show spoiler]incest storyline
was just purely shock value

Yeah, the whole trilogy was season 1, the first five episodes covered the first book and the last five were books 2 and 3. Actually the trilogy wasn't even finished when it was in development so it still might deviate some, but I read that the show kind of influenced the book writing.

But
[Show spoiler]they're running dangerously low on food supplies, and pregnancies that young are far higher-risk, which is really stupid when they have a skeleton crew for a medical staff.
It was illogical all around.

Maybe someone could scout towards Alexandria. Rick's group will probably still be there.

In other words, actually see someone leave Wayward Pines, and continue to trek many miles into the wilderness filled with Abbies. Maybe have some way to ward off the abbies with some kind of vehicle, weapon or deterrent. Not just on video for a few seconds as shown in season 2. The point would be to find more resources or safety if that's even possible. I still can't believe he managed to survive as long as he did in season 2 outside the walls. The Abbies disappeared for however long he was out there.

Did this ever get released on Blu-ray in France, or was that edition just canceled?
