And there's really no reason he can't go off on crazy adventures either. There's no compelling story reason to keep him on the ground on Tattoine for the entire thirty or so years between Sith and Star Wars.

Obviously he's not going to defeat Vader or overthrow the Empire but there's all sorts of fun mischief he could get himself up to.
Try to use the training Yoda gives him to attempt to overthrow the Empire anyway against the advice of Yoda? Much like Luke did in ESB.

There's 19 years between III and IV, although that's still plenty of time for lots of fun adventures!

Three Obi-Wan Kenobi Films in the Works

It will still be a standalone adventures, not connected as a trilogy.

"First up, they are not talking about an Obi-Wan spin-off movie but a trilogy of Obi-Wan movies. I need to stress that these movies are not connected. They aren't part of a story arc but 3 separate Obi-Wan adventures set between Episodes III and IV."

"It seems like the 3 movie ideas are as follows:

One set completely on Tatooine and two where Obi-Wan travels elsewhere in the Galaxy.

Qui-Gon Jinn is very much present in these stories. So too is Owen Lars. Several characters from the Clone Wars T.V show would make an appearance. There would be flashbacks to Obi-Wan fighting in the Clone Wars."

The above could be great, if done correctly. The thought of seeing Neeson back as Qui-Gon is very exciting, and knowing he has expressed interest in coming back in recent years, even reprising his role on The Clone Wars, makes it all sound more feasible. I really hope it happens.

Not interested. No matter how many dangerous situations he gets himself in, I know he'll survive.

Plus, we know we'll see C-3P0 and R2D2 wedged into it ad nausea...same with Chewbacca.

I'd much rather see other stories from the expanded universe, especially the Old Republic.

ME WANTEE! Even with the revelations in Clone Wars S6 there's still so much from the prequels and Clone Wars that's ripe for exploration
[Show spoiler]like Ahsoka's ultimate fate, and that of Darth Maul too
and it'd be great to see some of it realised after Clone Wars was cruelly cut down by the new regime.

Heck, if those rumours are legit I'd actually be more excited about the Obi-Wan movies than the proper Star Wars sequels.

[Show spoiler]I would love for them to bring back Darth Maul for one of these, but it would probably lead to confusion for all of the people who did not watch The Clone Wars.

This.

Oh, and Liam Neeson back as Qui-Gon for a cameo or his own movie would be a wise decision. Most wise.

And why not? It'd bring a sense of continuity into the prequel-era Star Wars universe that's sorely lacking from Lucas' own films.

Yes he can. Luke is an infant at the end of III and cared for by his uncle and family. Obi Wan can have all kinds of adventures during the early years of Luke's life.

Exactly, there's plenty of scope to tell some exciting stories. We may even get the bottom of Vader saying to Luke that "Obi-Wan once thought as you do".

Would love to see an aging Obi-Wan on a bunch of adventures with a grumpy Owen Lars getting dragged along as his sidekick.
