Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- confirmed for PS4

Been meaning to pick this up but would I be better of waiting for Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- to come out? Is that game even getting a home console release?

I know games like MK get GOTY editions but not sure how these Japan fighting games work as I know Persona has gotten a few updates or expansions.

Dunno.. Price was ridiculous at launch. Seeing now it's going for $37 on Amazon (stomach hurts) which is the Limited Edition, I'd pick that up.

I'd wait until they announce this month's Plus offerings. Guilty Gear has been confirmed for Japan for July, but it's unknown whether we'll get it or not.

If it is, you guys are in for a treat. It's a gorgeous game, one of the better 2d fighters I've played in quite some time. I paid $60 for it, and don't regret the purchase at all (even though it dropped to $24 in freaking 2 months for that flash sale).

Working against the game's inclusion in Plus: Japan has gotten games we haven't, such as Killzone and Akiba's Trip.

Working for the game's inclusion: I bought the digital version when it first came out. I won't run through the other games that have joined Plus after that fact, but it's long and slightly hilarious. It's almost like Sony looks at the games I buy and thinks, oh yeah, that'll make a good offering. (Not really, of course)

Games like GG that didn't sell particularly well but have a ton of paid DLC, are usually good PS Plus candidates because it gives the publisher a chance to make some money off of DLC sales.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- Heads to PS4/PS3 Next Spring

Arc System Works announced on Monday that it will sell the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 versions of its arcade fighting game Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- next spring. The prices have not be set. A promotional video announcing the console release will run at the Sony Computer Entertainment booth at Tokyo Game Show 2015 this week.

The company will also release a PlayStation Plus Pack for additional character colors in the earlier Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- game, to celebrate over 100,000 copies sold of that game's console versions. The pack will be available via a free download to PS Plus members from October to January 5.

Arc System Works released Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- in arcades across Japan on August 25. It adds the characters Johnny, Jack O, and Jam Kuradoberi. It also contains a new mode designed for beginners called "Stylish Mode." In this mode, players can execute basic combos, special, and Overdrive moves through repeated presses of a single button.

Arc System Works released the Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- game in Japanese arcades in February 2014. The company then released the game for the Playstation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles in Japan on December 4, and publisher Aksys Games released the game in North America on December 16. Arc System Works released the game in Europe on June 3.

I love the game but 3 new characters isn't enough to qualify for a second purchase. Hopefully they have a discount upgrade or something, the way SF4 did.

Oh yeah, Revelator is completely the way to go if you haven't gotten SIGN yet. The only real flaw with the game was that its character roster was a bit light.

The free colors for PS plus members is a nice gesture, though.

Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator's PS4/PS3 Release Dates Set

Game developer and publisher Arc System Works and American publisher Aksys Games announced the Japanese and North American release dates for the console versions of the Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- fighting game on Thursday. Arc System Works will release the game on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan on May 26, while Aksys Games will release the game in North America on June 7.

While it does look intimidating, Revelator does a wonderful job of explaining the game's mechanics through the tutorial:

While this Evo wasn't nearly as hype as last year, I found the Dizzy and balance patch announcement the best from all the Evo announcements. Capcom should take a note or two in giving your fans what they actually want and not charging them an arm and a leg for it!

finally bought it. it's $24 on psn now
