He's not too bad. I think if they give him a chance, he could be an A-list actor. I don't know if he's willing to do what's required to become a big actor. There's a price you have to pay behind the scenes.

On the western side, probably the best guy doing action in front of the camera. His acting is decent but it's pretty bad in comparison to the quality of his physical abilities. In a perfect world, he'd be great for Batman if he could act better. Honestly, I approve of him wanting to make great action. But I'd kill for him to really amp up his acting chops and get a meatier leading role to be in theaters. The dude can do action damn well. His acting has gotten better but it's not a good pace. It's been slow for him.

If you think about it, neither: Sylvester Stallone, Jean Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham are great actors. Their movies strickly rely on the action scenes and the special effects, not their acting.

Part of that is due to him mostly working in DTV films. It's hard to hone your craft when you get z-grade scripts and no name co-stars.

Sly can be a damn fine actor when he has a role for it. Even with ones that have some action. Copland, First Blood, and Rocky come to mind. Statham is a good actor. He just chooses to be in mostly roles that don't push him. Arnold beats Norris and Van Damme for sure though. Those two aren't that great. Norris being the worst of the five mentioned.

Plus a proper director who knows when to cut and do re-takes when lines come out bad. A great director has the ability to elevate an actor in my opinion.

Scott Adkins himself has said that studio execs just aren't interested in him for reasons unknown to him. He certainly deserved that big shot, leading role in a proper Hollywood movie but I feel like the best he'll get is very minor supporting/ henchman type parts a la Doctor Strange and Grimsby. At least he does great action work in smaller movies and I highly recommend this year's Accident Man which was a big passion project for Adkins.

I think it has nothing do with Adkins' acting talent (or lack of). there's no place/market for action stars

Despite Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson having very healthy careers at the moment.

I like Adkins, but let's be clear that acting wise, he's barely a rung above Gary Daniels.

I love both of these films! They def upped their game with the fight sequences in the 2nd one, but I love the first film as well. Lots of fun and very well done.
Also wondering if the single disc edition with BOTH movies on 1 disc have the bonus features included. I am guessing not and thus I think I will return mine and wait to acquire a standalone disc of Ninja 2....

I don't know about that, he did a pretty Russian in the Undisputed movies and does a pretty good American too, for being british.

The first one has a much better cinematography, filmic, grainy and nice colors.
Part two looks flat and digital, what a shame…

Agreed, but the action is amazing. Adkins and Florentine made a great team here.
