I really want to get the Doris Boxset. I'm a huge fan of the film and saw it IMAX 3D. Anyone know how to get it, or am i going to need to do some Store jumping?

I just saw the movie (in 2D) in an independent theatre and loved it. Can't wait to see it in 3D on my new TV!
Crap... Life sucks... I'm all for the Doris box... I don't think it's far that the box was members only. I really really want the prop and bandana... :'( I'm going to crawl under a rock...

As a fan club member, I think it's fair that we get things like this...they're just taking care of their fans. I'm sure sets will pop up on E-Bay and actually be affordable. There are a bunch on there right now but you're looking at $400 USD.

While I do agree with you, it's nice that some of the famous take of care there fans... I can't accept the fact that non members where tould about the Doris set. Had they told members only, and we [non member] found out about at a later date, I would not have a underware In a bunch.

I'm a huge fan of the film, and love to collect editions from films I love. I would truly love to get my hands on the Doris edition, but I've had problems with eBay I'm the past and would prefer the help of this site.

I just don't understand why the Univers hates me soo much... I wish there was more good then sadness in the world...

I don't think it's about the universe hating anyone. Metallica has always done this for the members of their fan club. Although I'm not a member, I do think it's pretty cool of them to do this. I'm not really interested in the Doris edition. I just want whatever version has the most content and don't care about the other fluff. What I'd like is a little more information from the vendors as to what is what. Amazon has the $35 and $59 versions listed, the latter being the "Doris" collection. What are they?

Did a little digging on the $59.99 and $35.99 versions on Amazon. I think this is what they are:

$35.99 is most likely this ($39.98 on Metallica's site)

There is no "Doris" edition on Amazon's site, no matter what they say. That edition was sold out through the fan club.

there is a non boxset 3D version which has the the 2D and. Bonus features. Then a 2D with bonus and the DVD. Then there the BB exclusive with only 3D and 2D versions on the film.

As I checked from Metallica.com here's what I can breakdown that actually there're 3 editions (price per Metallica.com)

Metallica Through The Never Blu-Ray 3D Deluxe Box Set ($64.98)
- 3D Film + 2D Film + BD Bonus Disc
- Basically if you need everything, this is the set you'd get

Metallica Through The Never Blu-Ray 3D ($39.98)

- 3D Film + BD Bonus Disc
- You get 3D + Bonus but NOT the film in 2D

Metallica Through The Never Blu-Ray ($24.98)
- 2D Film + BD Bonus Disc

Thanks for helping

Received my copy from amazon early (got it today). Seen it in IMAX but as soon as i got home from work i put it on. The audio is fantastic, the kick drum kicks you in chest and the guitars are loud and crunchy. It really gives you the feeling that Metallica is playing in your living room.

I bought the regular 2 disc blu ray version. Disc 1 just has the film and Disc 2 has the special features which i have not watched yet. Also included was a download card for a digital copy of the film.

Thanks. OK, so that'd be this one:

Slipcover?

Still trying to figure out if there's a 3D version I can get from Amazon. Got the two listings on pre-order but it's getting to crunch time now and I have to pick one and with it only being guesswork as to what's included in the one below it might have to be the one to go:

Nope, no slip cover, at least not on my copy anyways. The listings for amazon are confusing. I just ordered the one that i figured i would at least know what i am getting i did not feel like going through the hassle of returning an item if it was not the version i wanted. I would have loved to get 3D version but it was not clear on which one was 3D. Oh well i might have to double dip if i come across a 3D copy.
