Truthfully I think Superbad was built up too much for me. I went in expecting something and not getting it.

This is probably why I never heard of this movie until a few weeks ago when it was mentioned that it was going to be released on Blu-ray. I will probably not even rent it. Does not sound like my kind of movie.

I loved the movie, and will absolutely buy it.

I realize how it would not be for everyone though.

I love a good fart joke, and I'm 38, but a lot of the recent comedies have left me cold. Knocked Up, for example, made me chuckle at times, but I didn't laugh nearly as hard as I laughed at the subtle absurdities of a Little Miss Sunshine or your average episode of Apatow's Freaks and Geeks, and the "serious" side of the film bored me to tears (was I alone in thinking that film was, like, 30 minutes too long?). Superbad was definitely hit or miss with me, but it hit a lot more than it missed, so it's definitely one I'll be adding to the collection.

Superbad was amazing, saw a myspace screening (yes i know myspace, eww) a month early and everyone in the theater was laughing so hard the whole movie...I don't think I have heard a theaters laughter drown out the sound of the movie before. Maybe its liked more by younger people but I think anyone can get a laugh out of it, unless they are a stuck up ***** who doesn't find penis drawings hilarious

since the movie isn't out on bd yet i'm guessing you went to a discount theater that shows movies from 1-3 months back? if not, how did you get?

Will def buy, thought it was very funny - just not for kids, thats for sure. It can be as raunchy and as vulgar as it wants to be. I thought the pictures w/the body parts to familiar movies and things was hilarious. Have to agree with a earlier American Pie comment - Superbad makes it look like a G rated movie.

Again, some parts funny - most not. Underlying story - cool, how they did it, not. I am going to cancel my pre-order. If anyone is buying this blind - rent it first. Not one of those things that's worth owning IMO.

That's because everyone knows how I got it early. So why ask?
