I was lucky enough to get the U.K Steelbook of The French Connection off eBay the other day.

Just to clarify:-

I can confirm it only has one disc inside and has the orange artwork with Gene Hackman on the left hand side and is dated 2014. It is definitely the remastered version with the much better colour timing etc. It has all the extras from The U.S signature edition. But no Poughkeepsie Documentary. It didn’t have the booklet either.

So glad I got this as the film is superb. It’s also a great Steelbook, has the remastered picture and the extras.

If you bought the Steelbook and it has the old disc you’ll know because it will have a different date on the disc and will also include The William Friedkin introduction. The new remastered disc doesn’t have the introduction.

Just wanted to add my findings in an attempt to help anymore looking to buy this second hand as it’s OOP now I believe.

Can i just ask?, i've had this disc for years, does your disc take a long time to load, like almost a minute!

why does it take so long? anyone else experience this with UK steelbook version?
