That'd be tragic if the unused elements no longer exist.
There's never gonna be a great movie in here, but there's definitely one that will make better sense and be more fun. I mean, I like the movie (sort of) as it stands. The leads are miscast but there's a lot of good (wacky) stuff in it. |

The most likely are the complete lack of chemistry between Fiennes and Thurman, Fiennes' association with The English Patient (which had American Oscar viewers tuning out in droves when it started sweeping the board), Thurman's leaden performance/dodgy accent and the fantastical/surreal nature of the plot. Given how Warner Bros used to put destruction orders on unused elements after about 15 years, it's unlikely the original materials exist at all, let alone in good enough shape to stitch it back together. |
