Wow. Robert Ryan in 3D! I've been wanting to see this for a long time. I'm happy that they're including the 3D version.

This supplement sounds promising:

Its a shame they can't include the audio commentary and documentary produced for Fox a few years ago, if they still exist.

Discussed here:

I will want to import this film for sure. :-) to be honest Ive never heard of it but I am sure it will be a very worthy blind buy and 3D included is icing on the cake.

I haven't heard of the film either, but it looks good and I love classic 3D movies. Thanks for the heads up dsman71.

This is a good Robert Ryan classic with the climax being an actual Inferno that the title suggests...

A great find. I had never heard of panamint.

Ps. Panamint have an Amazon UK storefront (currently has all their existing DVD & BD titles) so I'm sure you'll be able to order Inferno via Amazon UK too in August.

The owner of Paramint stated at HTF that he won't be selling this on Amazon because they want too much percentage of sales. It will only be available on Paramount's website.

I read it as he wouldn't be offering it to Amazon for Pre-orders- as the Amazon cut on those is too high.

I could be wrong, but it seemed he was qualifying the comment.
He would be cutting off a huge source of sales if he didn't sell it on Amazon at some point, in some way. But it makes sense he would want to get as much from the people who know about it and are eager to get it.

I can't watch it until mid September anyway, so I'm content to wait and see what happens.

Absolutely one of the releases I'm most looking forward to in the last half of the year. Brilliant movie.

I have preordered the title today on the Panamint site, they ship globally for a reasonable charge and accept PayPal as well as credit cards.

May I ask if you had trouble ordering like I did? The site keeps telling me the phone number and country combination is not valid.

I'm hoping you're correct because I am having one hell of a time trying to order from his site. I can't get my phone number to take on the website and it's not optional. I tried different browsers and phone combinations.

Panamint is making it difficult to buy this product. For those interested, this title is available on Amazon.co.uk and is sold directly by Panamint. But Panamint refuses to ship it to the United States. When I tried to buy it, I got a message saying that the seller does not ship to my location.

This just seems counterintuitive. Why would you voluntarily turn away customers?

It's Region B. Fox wouldn't allow Panamint to release it region-free. You'll need a region-free player or a region b player to play it.

Outstanding release. Had never seen the film before, wasn't expecting much and was blown away. Superb presentation and highly recommended.

I'll be watching in 2D. I don't remember which side is the 2D though.

But Furmanek made sure any "issues" to be found were the result of the elements...and not taking "correction too far"...

The 2D payable version of any 3D disc is always the left eye.

Definitely. One alternative would have been blasting the affected bits with high levels of DNR so I prefer it to look like film, warts and all.
