Finally watched last weekend (after planning on watching it the last few Christmasses), Kino's Blu-ray release of To All a Goodnight.
I thought the transfer was very good on the whole (ditto with the sound (I didn't need to turn it up and down all the time). Wasn't sure about the ending [Show spoiler] and there were some technical issues (the day for night scenes contrasting with darkness outside the house through the windows for example).It certainly wasn't a dull slasher and for me was better than another eighties slasher I had also watched for the first time not long beforehand (Twisted Nightmare), and the film I also watched last weekend (Nightkill). Some good bumping-off scenes, the flashback at the beginning got things off to a memorable start, and it kept your interest. I'd certainly watch it again (going back to the beginning of this mini-review, it was worth the wait). |
