I received this recently and anaglyph version is pretty much unwatchable. Colors are terrible. Couldn't they have altered the palette somehow so the end appearance WITH the included glasses wouldn't be so bad?

The prior blu-ray of F13#9 (JGTH) was only the highly edited cut. The director's cut was only available on DVD, to the best of my knowledge. unfortunately, it looks like this set only has the first 8 films. drat..
So much nope.

Every single blu-ray release of the film to date has come with the anaglyph 3-D version including the box set, and they've all come with two sets of glasses.

This new set only comes with the first 8 films because that's all Paramount has the rights to.

There's probably no way to get around that due to the way that anaglyph 3-D works.

I'm sure I'm one of few who cares but it would be nice if Abandon with Katie Holmes were on Blu-ray. I've been wanting to revisit it but hate to watch it on DVD. Is it streaming in HD anywhere? I remember I thought it was a pretty underrated flick.

Also they should really release In & Out on Blu-ray. The DVD quality is bad.

I know it's been a while, but Antz and The Prince of Egypt are now out through Universal.

I saw this thread and chuckled to see it only had 64 posts and it launched in 2014....

that says a lot about Paramount....

Since it came up, is there a forum like this for the DreamWorks Pictures catalog?

Paramount recently promoted Dan Cohen to president of the Home Entertainment division. I don't know if this will change anything, but it's nice to hope.

One can hope. It's crazy to think about all of the cinematic treasures in the Paramount catalog that are collecting dust instead of generating some revenue and making fans happy.

Agreed. If Paramount can put Grease 2 on Blu-ray, they can put out more missing films.

I honestly wished WB still handled the Paramount catalog, because they actually got some of the catalog released. Like I honestly doubt that Paramount themselves would've put Clue on Blu-ray.

Was there ever a comprehensive list of the films Paramount licensed to WB?

Paramount has those Elvis hits like King Creole and Blue Hawaii for example. None of the 9 movies he did for them have come out on Blu-ray.

As always I cross my fingers, but I'm not holding my breath. They really do need an MOD program like Warner Archive or at least Universal and Sony. More licensing to niche labels would even be nice.

There are so many movies I love in the Paramount catalog that need Blu-ray releases.

-- Wonder Boys (2000) <-- my number 1 all-time Blu-ray want
-- Orange County (2002)
-- Kids In The Hall: Brain Candy (1996)
-- Coneheads (1993)
-- Stuart Saves His Family (1995)
-- Sabrina (1995)
-- Nick of Time (1995)
-- The Rainmaker (1997)
-- Elizabethtown (2005)
-- Rat Race (2001)
-- Beavis & Butthead Do America (1996)
-- Sliding Doors (1998) <-- I have the German BD but English is a "special feature"

They barely released anything, and many of them were re-issues that Paramount had already put out. And the ones that WB did release were old masters that typically didn't look that good anyway, so it was kind of a pointless deal.

I would much rather have a niche label like Kino or Shout having a distribution deal with Paramount than Warner Bros., though in the case of Kino they would likely be more inclined to use old masters (see the Touchstone/Hollywood catalog) than Shout would.

Shout and Kino did/do use older masters for their Paramount releases. See 1492: Conquest of Paradise and The Duellists.

Paramount released Clue on Blu-ray the first time, Warner simply re-issued and the rights have reverted back to Paramount.

Warner did release the 1991 Addams Family Film (and a handful of other titles themselves) during the licensing deal. Paramount just recently re-issued Addams Family using Warner's disc but uses the theatrical poster art for the cover instead.

I'd love to see a release of it's sequel Addams Family Values.
