That's so cool! I can't help but be saddened they haven't reinserted his scene in Godzilla '14. Maybe when it hits 4k? Having the Serizawa character rebooted was great but to have a connection and a bit of continuity from the original Toho series would be even better.

Could be but the gentleman is 86 years old. Most likely that scene was all he was going to get. It still might make it as an extra on the uhd disc, though.

Granted while it being done so in multiple parts is a pain, it's better than nothing. And will hopefully Season 2 see the light of day for the first time since early CN's airings from 1998.

On November 3, Austin’s Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will partner with Janus Films to host the coast-to-coast world premiere for a new 4K remastering of Toho International Inc.’s 1954 classic, #Godzilla (Gojira). The restoration screening comes on the King of Monsters’ 67th birthday.

Screenings of the original creature feature will be held at over two dozen Drafthouse locations across the U.S., including flagship theaters in New York City, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

The Godzilla anniversary festivities will continue at select locations from November 5-11, with a double feature comprised of Yoshimitsu Banno’s Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971), and Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi’s Shin Godzilla (2016). On the week of the 12th, select locations will spotlight two classics of the Heisei era never before seen in American cinemas: Gojira sequel The Return of Godzilla (1984) and Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989).

Although that info is wrong that Return Of Godzilla never was released in US theaters though. Godzilla 1985 is a thing (Though that may be Toho retroactively erasing it from their history).

Using suits from Toho's 2004 Godzilla film, Godzilla Final Wars, the new film short by Kazuhiro Nakagawa for the upcoming festival was filmed back in late September, a shoot which lasted 3+ days at Toho Studios. -@
