As for strongest animated 3D, it's going to be nWave or DreamWorks that run away with that award... A Turtles Tale, Thunder and the House of Magic, Madagascar 3, The Boss Baby etc etc

Pixar and Disney nowhere to be seen, pretty tragic in a discussion around animated films...
13thman thanks for helping out a new poster, and pointing me in the right direction.
I've been trying to collect any import animated/ anime 3D that's English friendly (and also has at least a medium 3D presentation). I got Freddy Frog, Cyborg 009, Legends of Oz, Resident Evil Damnation, Smallfoot, Niko 2 and Justin and the Knights of Valor to name a few of the imports (or lesser known titles). Some of these were bought with hesitancy because they haven't been reviewed yet. I'll add any to my list that have a strong 3D experience.
I'm surprised Abominable doesn't get mentioned more considering the excellent pop-out scenes. They are spread out throughout the film but quite fun! The rest of the film is pretty moderate 3D depth imo but excellent, vivid colors and beautiful overall picture quality.

Yes. It would be interesting if they had a new mindset for stronger 3D in the Spider-Verse sequel, which will be in theaters 2022 if all goes to plan.

Cool. Yes, plenty of outdoor forest scenes in Open Season 3D to really show off the stronger 3D. Even in the beginning, when the bear is looking out of the window of the vehicle, driving down the street, right away, strong 3D. And the water rapids scene was awesome and a highlight of the film's 3D too.

Sony Imageworks 3D team really went above and beyond on this production. I believe it was their 1st(?). In addition to the scenes you mentioned, another that really amazed me was
[Show spoiler]Boog’s reflection in the mirror shot at Shaw’s cabin.
Fantastic depth!

There are a lot of animated 3D titles that have been exclusively released in Europe, but not many of them have particularly impressive 3D. Off the top of my head though, two fairly obscure ones I would recommend are Pororo The Racing Adventure and Deep

By "particularly impressive," I take it you mean a lot of pop-out? I love strong pop-out

Well, yes and no.

You can have particularly impressive depth too, and sometimes just having the feeling of proper volume or the positioning in a 3D space is what impresses me.

Having said that, it should come as no surprise to anyone that I am more impressed by pop-outs than I am by depth.

Ordered!! If you think of any others that are English friendly please share!
I also have the Thor animated 3D movie on order, hoping the 3D is at least medium strength.

Madagascar 3 is a great shout for non N Wave ones, the 3D in that always blew me away. Same goes for the Penguins of Madagascar movie too.

I'm getting Open Season. I remember it being a good movie and everyone is suggesting it has strong 3D.

Just watched it again a few months ago, the 3D is great and the action doesn't move too fast so you can really enjoy it.

I picked up Open Season 3D for £1. At that price I'm almost glad 3D is dead.

Why? A thing only has value because it's expensive?

Just received Happy Family 2 3D from Amazon Germany! Just like the 1st movie, excellent 3D. I haven't finished it yet but the strongest 3D shots I've seen so far are the bats hovering/ in flight.
I was fortunate enough to have recently received Happy Family 1 from a German ebay seller I'd bought from before - not cheap mind you, but for me it's worth paying premium costs for great 3D, especially hard to find movies!
I'm going to update my list on this thread with both of these! Can't wait to pre-order the new NWave film!

I realize the 3D experience varies probably based on the equipment in use, and may vary according to individual preference, so I'm aware some titles I consider great/ strong 3D may not fit that category for some... that being said...
I've been enjoying many of the 3D animated movies strictly for their 3D strength, and often find myself getting caught up enjoying the movies as I'm immersed in the 3D experience!
I'm going to update my list as I watch and test more titles. Reading other people's lists / picks is helping me remember some of the better discs I've seen also!
Some titles I've gotten ahold of and viewed so far that fit into this category would be:

A Christmas Carol
Abominable (mostly medium depth with a few amazing pop-outs)
Adventures of Tin-Tin
A Turtles Tale (I haven't seen the sequel yet but I own it)
Battle for Terra
Beowulf
Boss Baby
Cars 1
Despicable Me
Despicable Me 2 (even stronger 3D than 1)
Dragon's Nest
Epic
Happy Family
Happy Family 2
Harlock Space Pirate
Hotel Transylvania 1 (again I haven't gotten to the sequel yet, but I'm looking forward to it)...
How to Train Your Dragon 1 (2 & 3 are in my cue)
Lichtmond (All 4 movies (possibly off topic, but I'm adding these because they're CGI films. Very strong 3D pop outs & depth throughout)
Monster House
Open Season
Onward
Polar Express
Quackerz (only just started this one, I'm on the fence but the initial viewing seemed promising)...
The Queen's Corgi
Son of Bigfoot
Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse
Thunder and the House of Magic
The Wild Life / Robinson Crusoe
Trolls World Tour
Wreck it Ralph
Ralph Saves the Internet
Just got around to watching Despicable Me 2... I'm sure most already know this one has great 3D, the first one was really good also but this one definitely improved on the 3D quality. I have many more animated 3D titles, (including DM3 & Minions, but haven't watched those yet... I'll keep updating this thread as I move through the back log. I watch movies really slowly!

The 3D animated movies from your list I have watched or at least had a good look at them:

Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse - Mostly weak 3D but has its moments.
Wreck it Ralph / 2 - Nice 3D, similar to Incredibles 2 and DM3

From what I have seen, the 3D in DM3 is more like the Incredibles 2 than DM1 & 2. That is to say it is OK but not as good as the first two movies.

Happy Family 2 is an absolutely fantastic example of STRONG ANIMATED 3D and it must be added to the list...
