I would have to say The Prestige kicks ass in all departments. Superb acting, one of the best stories ever told, great sound, and an incredible picture= a movie I can not live without.

P.S. Scarlett Johansson is very hot.

I really would rather go without any BD's if it meant having to choose JUST ONE, since I cannot. HD-DVD'S, or, if I absolutely had to, SD-DVD's would be just fine. Because I'd at least be able to have a large collection and selection to choose from.

But...

If I had to choose a movie on BD right now it would probably be "Live Free or Die Hard (4.0)" or "Independence Day."
If I could choose a TV Show, it would definately be "Smallville: The Complete Sixth Season", hands down (even though season seven is arguably better, it's still in progress).
If I could choose any movie from this decade, the last decade or the next decade to be on Blu-ray, I would probably go with "X-Men: The Last Stand - Director's Cut" (which is due out in 5 years) because I can watch that movie 12 times in a row and not get tired of it (and have done so on numerous occasions) or "the Back to the Future Trilogy."
If I could choose any classic film, I would choose "To Sir, With Love", but I definitely would not choose it over a current film.
