I've ordered this in the hope that some news on a transfer upgrade surfaces

Otherwise I'll cancel and buy later in a sale*. I can't see the point in paying top dollar for a poor picture & sound.

I've just bought the Patton steel for £8 for the same reason.

*in Zavvi's case I use the term loosely - very

I've just seen the email alert for this and the frame they've used for the email is a much better choice than the current placeholder IMO

I am doing the same.

The price is stupid considering the quality of the current disc.

With it having a June release date, I have pre-ordered it just in case.

What is exactly wrong with the sound? Does it have the "pal speed-up" sound like Studio Canal's
The Deer Hunter disc?

Its missing LFE on the English DTS-HD Master Audio track, could have been filtered, or the .1 channel wasn't encoded correctly or not at all.

Its basically a lesser version of Verhoeven's own The Fourth Man, but still a risible thriller.

It's similar to Sea of Love, if you've seen that. It's a thriller.

One of my friends were interested in this steel is the Bluray region for or is it actually Region B? I mean worse come to worse could just buy the steel & purchase the U.S. Bluray as its usually only $5.00 to buy anyway..

That is some ugly "artwork", no way I'm getting this. How about a cool, ice-pick design instead

I know right? I'll stick with the U.S. re-release not a steelbook but I prefer the coverart. I hope it got a new transfer http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You mean like that cheap plastic see-through toy Lionsgate released a few years ago? No, thanks. They had the right idea, but should've made it a little better. The Sharon Stone image is so iconic, how could anyone not like it
