I don't care about statues, steel books, or cover art. Just want to get all 3 films in EE + 3d in one set. It would be nice if something like this was announced for release this year.

Yeah I do too. Nice combination of the ring and dragon. I do like this one too though.

So if it's a jumbo are we assuming it has the special features disks for the theatricals in it? I'm thinking I might get this version and ditch my regular theatricals maybe...

It's probably a jumbo steelbook. Even if it has the bonus discs, it probably won't have the 3D discs for the theatrical editions.

Noticed on Walmart.ca they have an exclusive for The Hobbit Battle of the Five Armies. Looks to be an exclusive cover, and it comes with a journal too. Looks awesome to me ..The US will probably get the same

Kinda thought Walmart would pull a Marvel thing again and do a slipcover for each of the Five Armies

They should totally milk the slipcover nuts and do one for every dwarf

Add Bilbo and Gandalf into the mix and they could do 5 each to Walmart, BB, and Target. Plus one Necromancer slip to rule them all...

Well depending on what that journal looks like and contains I could very well see myself buying the Walmart exclusive as well. Thanks for the info.

LOL Gandalf really should've mumbled a thing or two about why they couldn't. Like, they had to wait for Aragorn to draw out Sauron's armies or something.

Better question is why the Eagles couldn't have just dropped them off at the steps of Erebor at the end of the first movie instead of leaving them at the top of that weird stone pillar... talk about inconvenient (I know it's explained in the book why the Eagles didn't take them all the way, but the movies never bothered).

I originally didn't like that stunt, but the Dwarves of Erebor bookends turned out a lot better than the Barrel Riders statue. So I would be in favor of two statue sets for this movie if it increases the chances of finally getting a Smaug statue.

I was thinking the same thing! It didn't look like it would be that much of a longer journey for the Eagles.
I think they're mainly there to help the characters out of tough situations, not to be a taxi service.

Hmm, I preferred the Barrel Riders one myself, but I do agree with you--anything for a Smaug statue (what an obvious missed opportunity the last go-around).
