This is almost exactly what we have been saying Sony should do for years and Feige/Iger clearly thought the same thing.
You know me too well.

This was probably the best situation that was realistically possible.

I wouldn't quite call it a hostile takeover like Walt lol
I'm being dramatic. But my point is basically, this wouldn't have happened if Marvel wasn't retaining a lot of the control. That press release is so full of fluff it's not even funny. Sony wants to look successful in all this, and Marvel just wants their character back. This was a win-win for both. It's good to see Sony Japan brought Marvel back to the table after Sony walked the first time.

On the surface, sure...but most attributed that to Tom Hiddleston returning as Loki. Malekith was the weakest villain after Trevor Slattery so far, and Natalie's performance seemed really empty compared to the first film.

It's not lying, this is how PR between giant multinational corporations works.

So what, that's subjective. Money's money, very objective.

Lying is lying, period. If you say one company has the final say on a matter when the reverse is true, your claim is a deliberate falsehood.

Sorry, don't feel bad for Andrew Garfield one iota. After all, he did get Emma Stone out of the deal.

In all seriousness, I'm glad that Marvel has got control (mostly) of Spider-man back. Best case scenario would have seen Disney buy the rights back completely, as I don't want Sony involved at all (my opinion - all the Spidey movies have sucked @$$). However, this seems like the most realistic option available. Too bad the hackers didn't do more damage.......

Logan Lerman? No way. I liked him in 3:10 to Yuma, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Fury, but Peter Parker he is not.

Bring on good Spidey films again. The Original first 2 Sam Raimi films were Amazing. I hope now that Spider-Man is in the MCU the caliber of film will be just as good as Captain America, Iron Man & Thor.

Not happening, you will pry Logan, Xavier and the rest from Fox's cold dead hands.

Now, Fantastic Four on the other hand... well, to quote The Shawshank Redemption: "Geology is the study of pressure and time. Pressure and time."

I think it'll work-- they had Judi Dench return as M in Casino Royale and nobody got confused about that. I was actually hoping they'd bring him back for the Amazing Spider-Man series anyway, since by movie three nobody could possibly have been confused with the continuity by then.

I'm not sure about that casting either. He's kinda short. Then again, if he's gonna crossover into the other films, Lerman may be standing opposite Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, and Jeremy Renner who are even smaller than he is.

I'm all for the X-Men remaining with Fox; the Donners have had a pretty good track record all-around with those movies.

As for the other matter...well, I think everyone here probably knows my stance by now.
