The thought of something being put out that's worse than Krekel-vision is pretty scary....

Since all other 101 films been just as bad as the german discs I would say don't get your hopes up for the UK disc

Watch around half of the german disc now, picture is soft, almost no fine detail and both the 5.1 and 2.0 audio is very poor. Bah on such a cool movie

I see from the screen grabs that the blue tint has gone from several scenes. I'm not sure whether it ever should have been there, I'll have to find my US DVD to see what that looks like. At the moment I'm inclined to cancel my preorder until there are some reliable reviews. After Midnight Run I've reached my limit of paying for substandard junk

I watched the Platinum Cult release last night and went in expecting to find the naysayers were full of hot air. The screenshots didn't look bad. Unfortunately this is a frustrating release. Nothing looks waxy but some the motion is blurry. And its distracting when it frequently alternates from highly detailed to glaringly soft. The 5.1 audio is incredibly weak but I found the 2.0 track to be serviceable. Garbage like this shouldn't be put on the market since it lessen the chance of getting a competently made release to the fans (consumers).

I doubt anyone's got it yet. It was supposed to be released (finally) today, but I've had no dispatch notification for it, so suspect that it's been pushed back. Again.

Cool. Let us all know how it is. It' says REGION B, but I'm curious to see if it'll play in a region A player.

It doesn't have the bonus cut but it has the deleted scenes as an extra (they have burned in Japanese subs though, so it would have been hard to incorporate them... and obvious since the quality of those missing scenes is not good at all).

Haven't seen this since the old VHS rental days!

Seeing Mr Hauer with that big gun - I want The Hitcher on blu-ray!

Any other extras: or just those deleted scenes?

wonder if they use same messed up 5.1 audio as the german disc with wrong channels? And the 2.0 is pretty bad also. And is it the same transfer?

The only audio on this new UK release is English PCM 2.0.

The only extras are the deleted scenes (and even they are all run together and play as one), CrockettandTubbs... unless you count being able to access Chapters as extras; which err, I don't

That´s very very interesting since german disc only had DD5.1 and DD2.0 and both sucked. Hopefully 101 found/made a own lossless track then and didn't just convert it?

How is the quality? Can you do screenshots and get bitrates?

Well I believe I'm right about the audio; I'll try to double check if I can but can't do screenshots as I don't have a BD drive for the PC but I'd say it was the best picture so far though far from brilliant (and in 1.78:1 so at least not P&S) - I'll see if I can check bitrates etc later and post them here.

Hopefully I can provide some decent relative data as I have the German AND Australian DVD releases to compare it to... love this film
