Disney owns ABC, so no one's really shoving anyone money, they're just renewing the shows they already own.

If they haven't announced The Muppets renewal yet, it isn't a good sign.

/might have been a bad timeslot. I wonder how it would have done at, say, 8:30 on Wednesdays, between The Goldbergs and Modern Family.

I don't think that's the case. While I would love for that to be true, ABC only bumped up the Season 1 order from 13 to 16 episodes. They haven't said anything about season 2 yet.

They ordered more episodes back in Oct 2015. Muppets season 1 is only 16 episodes with the season finale airing 2 weeks ago on the first.

I hope this gets picked up for season 2, I loved every single episode. They were all absolutely hysterical. I loved this take on the Muppets!

It made me super nostalgic for when The Office was airing. Even though I only got into the show late season 7, it became a big part of my week; waiting for Thursday nights even if it WAS for only 2 and a quarter's years' worth of episodes lol.

It's just nice having a really good genuinely hilarious comedy show to look forward to.

And I really, really hope season 1 gets a Blu-ray release.

This is probably the show I watched that got canned that bothers me the most, but I'll live. I seem to be one of the ten people or so that actually liked the humor.

Too many people seem to believe these characters should only be beholden to their variety show and early movie roots. That's fine for nostalgia, but those days are past. Myself I'd rather live in a world with new The Muppets material, but most people seem to be content living in the past with them.

The Muppets need to be updated in a way that is respectful to their past yet right for the present. I feel like they were getting there but apparently not fast enough for ABC.

Now hopefully they will do a REAL Muppet show.

I don't know why Disney hasn't learned that lesson yet. All they need to do is the original Muppet Show as a 2.0, and stop re-purposing the Muppets from what they do best.

When I heard that there was some upcoming “big announcement”, I thought for sure that it was just going to be about the next season of Muppets Now or something really underwhelming like that.

Never expected to see the entirety of The Muppet Show on Disney+! This is awesome!

The big elephant in the room is if every episode will be uncut? As some of you may know, the Season 1 DVD had some songs cut in a handful of episodes because of music licensing issues.

One hopes that the reason it took so long for it to start streaming is that they took the time to take care of all that, since it would have been a major selling point when Disney + originally launched.

I'll be they still mess with the aspect ratio though....
