I've decided to list all of the 50 films and categorize them by studio/distributor. That way, we have a better idea of who controls the rights to which picture. If I've made a mistake, please let me know.

Thank you Bob.

I wasn't quite sure if Southwest Passage was an independent production or if MGM/UA owned it.

The list has been corrected now.

I always get confused with who has the rights. Dangerous Mission,Devil's Canyon, Louisiana Territory and The French Line were originally RKO. They ended up with WB?

MGM is confusing, their two original 3-D titles are now also owned by WB, but somewhere along the line MGM acquired several other titles? You'd almost need two lists: one for the original studio, and another for the current rights holder.

To add to your list, rights to the following are claimed by Wade Williams:

Cat-Women on the Moon
Hannah Lee
Robot Monster

1) RKO films and MGM films before 1986 belong to Warner Bros. The 3-D films the current MGM owns are mostly United Artists films.

2) I call them Independent/Misc since Wade Williams' "claims" tend to be a bit murky. For example, he "claimed" to own the rights to Plan 9 From Outer Space (1959), even though the film is PD.

Default top 10 3-D Films from the Golden Age

1953-54. This list didn't turn out so well. No place to put Dial M For Murder, Second Chance, Gun Fury and Revenge of the Creature. The Russian version of Robinson Crusoe from 1947 might be a favorite, as the stereo was dramatically motivated and a deep smooth and easy watch, but I need to see it again.

01 - House of Wax
02 - Kiss Me Kate
03 - Miss Sadie Thompson
04 - Hondo
05 - Inferno
06 - The Charge at Feather River
07 - I, the Jury
08 - Phantom of the Rue Morgue
09 - It Came From Outer Space
10 - Creature From the Black Lagoon

My top 6 3-D blu-rays from the Golden Age:

01 - House of Wax
02 - Kiss Me Kate
03 - Inferno
04 - Dial M For Murder
05 - Creature From the Black Lagoon
06 - 3-D Rarities

So, let's see your list.

It's so hard to choose just ten. If you pressed me, I'd offer this top ten, in roughly chronological order:

House of Wax
It Came from Outer Space
The Charge at Feather River
Inferno
Kiss Me Kate
Hondo
Miss Sadie Thompson
Creature from the Black Lagoon
Dangerous Mission
Dial "M" for Murder

Then I'd turn around and add another ten, also in roughly chronological order:

The Maze
Second Chance
I, the Jury
The Glass Web
Gun Fury
Money from Home
Dragonfly Squadron
Phantom of the Rue Morgue
Gog
Revenge of the Creature

I must add that, of the 3-D offerings from the 1960s, I've never seen September Storm at all, in 2-D or in 3-D, and I really, really love both The Mask and The Bubble. In fact, I was telling Bob and Greg that when it comes to my personal Blu-Ray viewing at home, I'm more apt to reach for The Bubble than for, say, Dial "M" for Murder. Who knows what that says about me.

3-D Rarities has its own special place at the very summit of my esteem.
