One can't escape the Indiana Jones and..title for Raiders of the Lost Ark in the 21 century. If the steelbook just said Raiders of the Lost Ark, I might have bought it on principle even thought I already own the film on Blu-ray. Love the artwork though. And that Wrath of Khan steelbook is a thing of beauty.

USA Saving Private Ryan 2017 Best Buy exclusive?

I haven't seen it discussed anywhere, or even a link to it....but I picked up the latest SPR steelbook at Best Buy a couple weeks ago. It appears to be the same disk as the sapphire series....the disk even still says "disk one" on it!

They were discussed in the transformers thread because they should've all been on the same shipper. A new thread wasn't created because everything other than the transformers and wolf of wallstreet(metalpak) was a rerelease

Gotcha....posted new because there isn't any thread on any American version of Saving Private Ryan steelbook....original or rerelease. Edited to seem less like a jack@ss

I see it listed as metal packaging is it a metalpack or a steelbook?

I think both versions exist, one was BB and one was Walmart but I can't remember.

Most recent BB release is a steelbook

Yes, I guess searching for a thread titled "Saving Private Ryan" was stupid, I should have searched for "Paramount". Totally makes sense, I should start searching by studios instead of movie titles. SMH

BB is a steelbook, I just bought it last week.

The metalpak was at Target had a pop-out cover (is that what it's called?). This is intentionally the same steelbook they released couple years ago.

Seriously....there is not a single thread on SPR, American steelbooks, so I start one and it gets moved to the paramount thread? Is there a special rule on who is allowed to start threads? Is there a GOOD reason people here get their panties in a twist over someone wanting a thread ACTIALLY DEDICATED TO THE MOVIE IN QUESTION. No one is going to seek out a paramount thread to find info on Private Ryan. Just silly to not have a thread for this steelbook.....

Sorry to have overstepped my place here! SMH

Don't you think it would be pretty pointless to have a thread for a release over 2 years old now ?

No! OBVIOUSLY not since I searched for a thread on this exact steelbook and couldn't find what disk is in it! How else are people supposed to find out what's in it? Do we delete threads for old movies/steelbooks? Do people not have questions, are there not new collectors, and people who didn't pick it up the first time? People are already asking if it's a steelbook or metalpak.....don't those question deserve an easy spot to find the answer? Or should we send people to the paramount thread?

Instead of saying it's pointless, imagine yourself a new collector, searching for a thread on a steelbook of one of the greatest war movies made.....and then sitting there dumbfounded when you can't find one!

A better question is "why wasn't this thread created when the steelbook was released....or why are people so adamant that they are right, and others with legit questions shouldn't have an outlet for those specific questions".
