Did you try fast forwarding through the previews? Make sure that you don't do chapter skip, as that doesn't work. But fast forwarding works for me.

Yes I know, I had the exact same problems with the Pixar discs. Sometimes I could get it to load, other times I couldn't. The only thing that actually worked for me was fast forwarding though the previews. Chapter skip worked once, but fast forwarding works every time now. But since turning 24fps to off and fast forwarding doesn't help you, your best bet is to wait for a firmware upgrade.

Odd, with my PS3 I had to set the 24hz to off (previously I just had it on auto), otherwise I'd just get a blank screen and I'd be stuck there -- I could eject the disc, but I wouldn't be able to exit the player or anything... just a black screen. No other Disney movie has given me that problem.
On the bright side the Disney castle logo at the start that plays directly before the movie hit 50mbps 3 times according to the bitrate meter on the PS3 (and the audio track only too 224kbps of that)... Some crazy bursts! |

Hi there all.
First posting. Yah. Due to this annoying problem. Played around with the settings before going online and this is what I discovered. First off, I have a 60GB PS3 with the 2.01 FW. Second, I have my resolution settings on at 720p with 1080i 1080p disabled. Since I play it on a 720p/1080i television. And 720p is much better than 1080i for playback. Especially with movies like this. So no matter what I did same problem as being described, as soon as the menu is about to load, system freezes. Reboot is only option. So I enabled 1080i. Suddenly all works aok. Nothing more was changed. Which leads me to believe that this movie is in fact in 1080i and not 1080p. Because to display 720p you would down convert 1080p to see it. But a 1080i video cannot be converted to 720p since 1080i < 720p. Give this a try and tell me what you guys get. Thanks. Last edited by tilallr1; 12-06-2007 at 03:29 PM. |

I'm going to try it tonight. It's very odd that some can play it no problem and others can't.........I don't keep the RSS feed or internet connection on.....I wonder if this might be part of the problem......can anyone confirm? |
